Copyright Troll Legal Notice

FML Today I received a notice of "Unauthorized Use of Copyrighted Image" regarding a 7 year old blog post on my tiny, personal, completely not-for-profit website that only about 5 people ever read (that I had incidentally purged just 2 months ago) from a probable copyright troll (Sanders Law, PLLC). It isn't even signed by an actual lawyer, it's signed by a paralegal. I know YANAL, but I have no idea what to do or who I can turn to. [more inside]

How do I go about sending a letter requesting an out-of-court settlement to someone I can potentially sue?

At the advice of counsel, I need to send a letter to a party I thought about suing suggesting we settle a personal injury case out of court. The lawyer is out of the picture for now, otherwise it'll cost me money. So... how do I do that? [more inside]

Please help me understand this court case (if it is one)

Please help me understand this court case (if it is one). I have made some attempts to try and find help with the California court noted here but I've been told "that's not us" and am a little embarrassed with my attempts to chase this down. I've also emailed the attorneys and other people involved but they are not responding perhaps due to the controversial nature of the case. [more inside]

How far should I take this complaint?

Should I press charges for sexual harassment? The owner of the company has stated that he will back me if I pursue this. I want to know what to expect and any experience anyone has with a similar situation. Also please note this is not an idle accusation -- this person was the GM and fired recently for stealing commissions from employees. Not a good guy. [more inside]

Bank won't finance our home builder, can he win if he sues us?

We have begun building a house, we have the plans, the lot and the builder. No ground broken yet. We signed the contract with the builder. When securing the financing, we were told that the builder has several liens and they will not finance us if we use him. Based on the title search, they said no bank would give us money if he is involve. Could he win if he sues for breach of contract? Can we legally back out of this contract in light of these circumstances? [more inside]
