Prospects for UK law grad in the US?

I currently attend a top 2 law school in the UK (no prize for guessing which), and am interested in working in the US after I graduate. While I am aware that I will be eligible to take the bar exam in NY and California with a degree from a common law jurisdiction, would my prospects of landing a law firm gig be appreciably augmented if I go for an LLM (or perhaps even a JD) at a US law school? Washington State Worker issue

My friend is having an employment situation crisis (Washington state), and it's difficult to find a lawyer to consult on the weekend. Is there a case here, or is at will termination going to come into play here? I know that he needs to talk to a lawyer, but it's a little bit of an emergency. :) [more inside]

Need an employments right lawyer STAT

A friend works overseas for a US-based defence contractor. He's been involved in a somewhat work-related incident in his country of work and his employer is, long story short, refusing to advise him, maybe even turning against him. Lots of details we don't want to put on the internet. Need to find a good attorney in the US that has specialization in working with employment rights, particularly in international situations for US based entities (not sure if the defence contractor part is relevant or not). If state matters, pick Texas.

Forced out

YANAL, but... A young friend of mine got a job with a service company that does substantial business with his (then) current employer. His current employer found out and called the employer-to-be and told them that, if they go through with the hiring, they'll discontinue doing business with the employer-to-be. In short order, the employer-to-be rescinded the job offer and the current employer terminated him. [more inside]

Dutch Employment Lawyer?

I have an opportunity to get out of a terrible work situation, with what seems to be a reasonable severance pay-off. Trouble is, I'm in the Netherlands, and don't know any Dutch lawyers. Can any Me-Fite point me to either a Dutch employment lawyer with whom you have experience, or to a resource where I can find my own? Posting anonymously as some co-workers read the site. Laid off with no equity, as promised

I've just been laid off by my employer, small tech start-up, and a few fishy things linger in the air that I'm looking for guidance on. The first is that I was promised equity come Jan. 1 in exchange for being paid slave wages for half of this year. I have this promise on paper. After being laid off, I'm told I'm no longer eligible.
