I currently attend a top 2 law school in the UK (no prize for guessing which), and am interested in working in the US after I graduate. While I am aware that I will be eligible to take the bar exam in NY and California with a degree from a common law jurisdiction, would my prospects of landing a law firm gig be appreciably augmented if I go for an LLM (or perhaps even a JD) at a US law school? I am an American national with indefinite leave to remain in the UK and have been here since 2005. I am registered self employed as a dominatrix - yes they seem to have a category for this at Inland Revenue - and it seems that in order to naturalise as a British citizen, I will need to send the Home Office a statement of accounts with my application! So there's no hiding it (not that I would want to). My question is - will being an out sex worker make them pause at granting me citizenship, because of the good character requirement?
A collection agency in the UK is trying to collect an unpaid invoice for me. Their initial efforts have failed; should I authorize them to go ahead with legal action? (Details and earlier question inside.) [more inside]
What are the legal implications if I start a blog documenting the poor service my property manager provides, and asking others to share their opinions of this firm? I can speak for the factual accuracy of my own experiences (I have their letters and invoices etc, as well as my responses), but what about others? [more inside]

I need to find out the results, if any, of a pair of cases filed in the UK High Court of Justice, Queens Division, in 2004. I have the names of the claimants and the case numbers, but don't have access to (or can't find) the legal databases that might give me the info. Anyone in the UK legal world have any hints? I can provide details if you message me. Thanks.

We hired a moving company to ship our furniture/stuff from the UK to Switzerland. They said it would take 14 days. It will now actually take 35. All this while we've been paying rent on an empty flat it turns out we won't need for another two weeks. [more inside]
I'm a dude going to marry a dude in New York State. Said dude I am going to marry is a resident alien from the UK. Will the UK recognize the marriage? Does he become an American Citizen by marrying him? Does that counteract his UK citizenship? What are my rights, here?

This morning I was hit by a bus while cycling to work. I'm not badly hurt but currently in hospital waiting to have my shoulder checked and cuts cleaned out. I'm in London, England. The bus driver was 100% to blame. The police have taken a statement from me and I have two phone numbers from witnesses. What should I be doing now to make sure I receive adequate compensation and the driver is dealt with appropriately?

I want to get a divorce I'm in the UK: Do I need to involve a solicitor? is this something I could do on my own? If it is something I can do myself, how can I go about starting it? My wife is not overly keen on us getting a divorce, though I'm pretty sure she'd NOT put up much of a struggle once the thing got started. [more inside]
I am watching ITV's Midsomer Murders at the moment, wherein Detective Chief Inspector John Nettles just heard that a 20 year old student Aidan is told he will inherit £100,000 if he reaches 21 as a non smoker. Are these Will clauses legitimate in UK law? Or are they a convenient dramatic device, long superceded in legal practice?
