Lame locked Leatherman

My fake Leatherman multitool is locked open. It's not a real Leatherman, just a no-name knockoff that I can't even find a manufacturer's name on it. If I open and lock any tool--knife, saw, whatever, it locks open and I have to get a flathead screwdriver to pry it out of its groove.

Either a) I'm doing it wrong or b) I bought a real piece of shit knockoff Leatherman. It seems to be solidly constructed and doesn't appear to be as lame as it is; am I doing anything wrong? Or is it just a paperweight?

Do you know someone at Leatherman?

I'm stuck in a Leatherman support nightmare. Please help me with contact info for someone in Leatherman who has the power to help me. My favorite multi-tool has had issues, and Leatherman's support on this particular issue has been atrocious.

I'm still trying to work it out with them, so I'm not going to post the particulars and embarrass them while there's still a chance that they'll make it right with me.

I need names and email addresses of people within Leatherman who have authority to help a customer.

I'm at a dead end with toolwarranty@leatherman.com and TeresaG. I've also Googled for Leatherman email addresses, but I'm empty-handed.

Please? And thank you!

New Leatherman! Where can I bring it?

Am I setting myself up for any trouble by tossing my new Leatherman tool in my bag and forgetting about it? I got a Leatherman Wave for Christmas this year, and I'm pumped -- it just seems so useful, right? Anyway, I want to put it in my main messenger bag, which stays with me almost every moment I'm outside the house. But will I run into any problems having, essentially, a 4" knife on me at all times?

I don't go through a lot of X-ray checkpoints and I expect (hope) I'll remember to take it out before I fly, but is there anything else I should know? I guess part of me is thinking back to my public school days, when having anything like a knife would result in expulsion, local news coverage, etc.

Ultimate Geek Tool

Holidays are approaching...what would be the essential geek multi-tool for working around computers and other office related repairing? Is it a specific type of Leatherman? The Swiss Army Cybertool? Or something completely different?

How to mass clean Leatherman Micras?

I need to clean metal - in bulk. Metal with lots of nooks and crannies. I took advantage of those airport confiscation auction dealies, and I now own 95 used Leatherman Micra mini tools. There's everything from blood to just gunk in these things. Is there some sort of bath I can make where I can just plop the lot in, let 'em sit, pull 'em out and have them work like new?
