I'm 19, and I want to buy a leather jacket to last me the rest of my life. Any suggestions as to brands, styles, or where to get one? Ideally I could wear it all my life, wear it in like a good pair of boots, and possibly hand it down to my son, or at least my 10-year-younger brother when it became his time.

Is wearing fur actually any worse than wearing leather? There's a much stronger taboo against wearing fur, but I can't think of any reasons why it's worse than leather.

I have several watches that I wear that all have leather watch straps. With a couple of the watches, my ideal placement for the hole in the strap is actually in between two current holes. What is the best method to create a hole big enough to use? I have tried a sharp turkey skewer to poke a hole in it, and while it pierced the leather, it didn't leave a hole large enough to easily go through every time.
I have thought about a leather punch (which i guess is used for belts?) but that would be way too large. Suggestions?

I'm turning a small vintage samsonite leather suitcase into a baby travel kit that will stay in my sister's truck.
I know how to get the lingering smells out, and how to replace the liner. I also figured out how to clean leather. But what type of paint is best to use on leather?
I want to add some decorative elements with a baby theme to the outside and I'm not sure if acrylics are okay.

(Handbag-filter). I'm looking for a very specific handbag for work and travelling. My perfect bag would be a standard Mulberry Bayswater with a messenger strap so I can sling the bag over and have my hands free (very useful when in airports).

What's going wrong with my 10-year old sheepskin? ok, actually it's an angora goat skin, but it's the same concept. The main body of it is okay, but the sueded leather is really stiff and fragile at the edges/corners/legs, and pieces keep cracking and falling off, though not yet to the point of crumbling. What's causing this? Can I fix it?

In what Los Angeles stores can I shop for plush leather desk chairs? I'd like to visit well established stores (ones that have been around for a decade or so) and try out various desk chairs before I make a purchase. I'm willing to drop some bucks for the right chair. I want it to be down-stuffed, soft leather, plush, swivel, tiltable back, adjustable height. I'm not really concerned so much about ergonomics...I don't have back problems. I just want a sense of plushiness when I sit at my desk. I'm willing to drive to any part of town.

I recently bought a

But I don't own a lot of designer items or keep up with all the trends, so I'm a little clueless as to how to treat it! A few specific questions are below, but my general question is - what should I know about owning a really nice handbag like this?
