Having F3arful difficulty finding this jacket

Help me find a jacket as exactly like this as possible, of any material, as cheap as possible. My friend and I recently played the co-op campaign of F3AR. I played through the whole game as Paxton Fettel, and he, of course, was Point Man. It occurred to him recently that, other than a massive height difference between us (he's 6'1" and I'm 5'4") we actually aren't so tremendously dissimilar from each other or these characters that we couldn't cosplay it.

So we decided to give it a go.

The only issue we're having right now is that I can't find the danged jacket for Paxton. I'm not looking for one with all the colors; I have all the tools I need to add the red and yellow bits myself. I just can't find the jacket in my size for any kind of decent price, new or used. I'm willing to pay more for it than I normally would for a costume, because I genuinely think it's an awesome jacket and would wear it outside the con too if I owned it.

I'm 5'4" tall, 140 pounds, pretty fit. 32 waist for sure, and I generally take a 38S jacket, though just about everything I own has to be tailored in some way (usually to make the arms/legs shorter).

Image

I'd post more images, but my work computer is blocking every good-looking image I can find right now. Googling "Paxton Fettel f3ar" produces a page full of good results.

Specifically, I'm looking for a jacket that A: Fits, B: Has the vent zippers, and C: Looks like it could be the same or similar material. His jacket is presumably leather, but as long as it can be readily painted I'm not too picky.

If it's possible to instead make this jacket, or if anyone knows of a way to add/replace existing (p)leather with red (p)leather to eliminate the need to paint the underarms and sides, that would be appreciated too.

Lifetime leather jacket?

I'm 19, and I want to buy a leather jacket to last me the rest of my life. Any suggestions as to brands, styles, or where to get one? Ideally I could wear it all my life, wear it in like a good pair of boots, and possibly hand it down to my son, or at least my 10-year-younger brother when it became his time.

Can you help me identify the black jacket in this picture? I've never owned a black leather jacket, but I like the way this one looks - not too bulky, not trying so desperately hard to say "I'm a bad ass."

Help me find this jacket!

I'd like to find a leather jacket similar to this one. I have no idea where to start or anything about leather jackets in general. Is there a specific style of jacket I should be searching for?
I'd prefer it to be a more slim-fitting jacket like this as opposed to a biker jacket, but if you have any cool biker jackets in mind I'd check those out too.

Bonus points for Nashville-area stores but online sources work too. Thanks!

Cleaning a cat-peed leather jacket?

Cleaning a cat-peed leather jacket? I just returned home from a Scrabble tournament to find my leather jacket on the floor. My fears were confirmed when I picked it up and noticed a certain... waft to it.

How can I clean this without ruining the jacket? There are no tags on the inside with cleaning suggestions. If possible, I'd love to avoid sending it to a dry cleaners (I was quoted 50$). If I have to go that route, will they get the stench out?

Need sites for new leather jacket

So its about time to get a new leather jacket. I'm male and looking for either a "car coat" or "walking coat" style and I need it in ~2XLT. I can't find anything good at Burlington, Zappos, or Wilsons.
Anyone have a good idea where else to hunt something like this up online? I don't necessarily need to purchase it online, but at least hunt for a jacket whose look I like.

Punk Leather Jacket Rehabilitation

Back in the day, I had a black leather motorcycle jacket painted up in the usual punk style: Big back patch, studs, spikes, chains, the works. I'm older now, and I'd like to keep the jacket while getting rid of the youthful excess that covers it.

How do I rehabilitate my old leather jacket? The spikes, chains, and studs aren't the problem, as they come out/off pretty easily. I can deal with the scars their extraction will leave.

The bigger issue is the paint. The back patch is spray enamel and acrylic, and there are enamel bits over the rest of the jacket. The two options I see are stripping off the entire outer covering and starting over or simply painting over the whole thing. I see some potential problems with either option: Acrylic paint doesn't strip off without a major fight, but it's lumpy enough to show through any over-coat I might apply.

I'm sure there has to be a solution, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to see it. I'd like this jacket to slide, semi-gracefully, into middle age with me, scars and all.

Long question short: Have you ever rehabilitated a leather jacket, and if so, how? Any input cheerfully accepted.

Leather Jacket

I bought myself a leather jacket in the biker style. Would you advise me to attempt it myself?

Leather Jacket Repair

Where can a leather jacket be repaired near White Plains, NY? My son's new jacket brushed against a metal fence and has a clean slice in the sleeve. 2 tailors want to glue and stitch it, but I'm afraid it will look as if the jacket has a scar. Any suggestions?

Tips for buying a mens' leather jacket

I'm wanting to buy a (mens') leather jacket for the first time. What advice can you offer me? Bonus points if you can recommend a particular brand, or a store in NYC. Hey all.

I don't know anything about fashion or leather, but I want a black leather jacket because I think it would look good on me.

I'd like it to be warm, so that I could wear it through the winter. Ideally, it would also have some sort of removable lining so that I could wear it in the spring and fall. But most importantly, it has to look good.

So what should I know going into this? How do I know if a jacket is good quality? How do I know if I'm getting ripped off? What should I expect to spend on a good-quality mens' leather jacket? Are there any brands that you would recommend? Are there any stores in the NYC area that you would recommend?

I am having trouble finding the right box.

My father in law is celebrating his 70th birthday this weekend. We got him a kickass present, and it deserves to be presented in a kickass box/receptacle/container. I am not finding it. Ideas please? All the kids kicked in and bought my father in law his dream Harley Davidson leather jacket for his birthday. Given the fact that it is leather, and a size triple XL, whatever we put it into has to be pretty darn big. I went to a craft store, the UPS store and the Party Store, and no dice. What I am looking for is a nice solid (not collapsible) cardboard box to place it in. My husband suggested putting it into a printer paper box, but I find that tacky! It's the man's seventieth birthday! We spent heaps of cash on this present, can't we find something classier to put it in?
Caveats: not interested in doing a gift bag with a Harley jacket, kinda ruins the effect, don't you think?
So I turn to you, my humble hive, where do you think I can find a box with a lid by this weekend that is at least 2 1/2 feet long, 18 inches wide, and 6-7 inches tall. Don't suggest the Harley store where we made the purchase, I already asked. I am in Chapel Hill, if that helps. I am open to pretty much all creative suggestions.
Much love and many thanks to you all.

How can I make my new leather jacket stop making a squeaking sound?

How can I make my new leather jacket stop making a squeaking sound? Last year for christmas, I received a nice leather jacket. I didn't really wear it very much, and subsequently forgot about it in my closet. I recently rediscovered it, and want to start wearing it more often. The problem is that it makes this weird squeaking sound whenever I move in it. I realize that this is probably a sign that the leather needs to be broken in, but I don't know how to do this.

Is there an easy way to break the leather in so that it stops making this sound? Or is this noise a normal part of owning/wearing a leather jacket?

Thanks!

Leather jacket care?

How to care for a leather jacket? I have a black leather jacket I got a few months ago and have worn pretty much daily since.
New York's all right if you're a metrosexual

How tacky is it for a man to wear an apparently woman-cut leather jacket? Today I was at the Salvation Army on 46th and 11th in Manhattan, and I found a nice real leather jacket, in perfect condition except for a spot on the pocket area. The salesman gave it to me for $7, which is ridiculous considering it's Banana Republic and almost new. It looks like this eBay picture, except I think the lapels are slightly narrower. As you can see, it's a woman's jacket. It seems to me, though, that a jacket is a jacket, not a dress, and there can't be that much difference between the male and female versions.

I am young and somewhat metro (skinny jeans and such, you know the type), and it fits me perfectly if I wear it unbuttoned, but I still can't shake the sense that by wearing it I'm committing some faux pas for which the NYC fashion police will slaughter me. Any innate fashion sense I have is totally failing me at the moment.

So, MeFi, have you ever known of anyone pulling this off? What did he do to make it not seem so, I don't know, fruity? I'm not at all averse to hitting St. Marks and accessorizing with studs and patches (may Darby Crash (pbuh) forgive me).
Right now, I've got a black-and-white Jam pin in the top left lapel.
