Brief water leak through ceiling track lighting-- what now?

Clueless new homeowners here. After a shower and a use of the toilet upstairs, water started dripping through a screw on the track lighting in the kitchen. It started maybe 10 minutes afterwards and lasted maybe 10 minutes, maybe a cup or so of water total, then stopped. What happened? What do we do now? Call a plumber, presumably, but how urgent? An electrician too? Is there danger because of the light fixture? [more inside]

Water in the living room: not plumbing, not A/C condensation, not roof

Who you gonna call? -- What else can leak water? We called a plumber; no pipe leaks. Found more water in the room; it's on the other side of the wall from the A/C in the garage. We have *replaced* the A/C. We've been up in the "attic" and there's no water or water damage up there. The carpet puddle keeps getting bigger. [more inside]

What the hell is leaking in my basement?

There is a slow drip in my basement. Complicating factor--it seems to be coming from a gas pipe, not anything that should have water. It could be condensation but I don't think so. Many more details plus photos inside. [more inside]

PlumberFilter: I have turned a big toilet leak into a small one. How can I stop it entirely?

I have replaced the flapper, flush valve, overflow tube, spud washer, bolts, and gaskets. A big leak (spontaneous refilling every 1-2 hours) has become a small leak (2" drop in water level in 12 hours). Now what should I do to make it stop entirely? [more inside]

Water leak at 4am, do I call my landlord now?

It's 4 am and I just woke up to a bathroom full of water. I'm renting in the Sierra's and it's been really cold, so one of the pipes burst and started leaking (the heat was on and I was home all day, though..). I called the emergency plumbers and they came to turn off the water. Now the situation is under control. How do I break this to my landlord? Should I call her now or can it wait till morning?
