***** -- My local paper's masthead incorporates a number of stars at the top of the page. I could have sworn I've seen this on other papers but apparently not on our not on our other regional rag. Is this just a bit of layout eye candy or do they have some significance?

CSSFilter: I am building a wordpress site that uses a basic two column layout with floating div elements inside a fixed-width div . Any clues why Safari and Chrome appear to be ignoring the fixed-width container div allowing the interior elements to float away to the edges of the browser? Explorer and Firefox aren't doing this. My small ad agency is looking to speed workflow and reduce errors stemming from borked formatting going from word docs, etc. to InDesign. What's the skinny on InCopy? Tell me about your first-hand experience with it; is it easy to learn, easy to use, etc? We are all very happy with InDesign, but we're not going to give it to every writer, and it's tedious to have the writer sit next to the AD and go "no, put the semicolon there and the period there." I want to get a feel for the value that InCopy might bring. Also, what are the hidden drawbacks that I may not have thought of? Thanks.

I have been writing books in PageMaker 7. With some projects I like to put "factoid" type material (quotes, facts, minor tables, etc) in the margins. Unfortunately I've never found a way of binding these with the main body of text so that factoid text blocks will be forced to appear on the same page. So I've been doing it manually, and it's a big PITA. How should I be handling this? Will Quark or newer versions of PageMaker help?
