I'm trying to find the exact law-enforcement/legal job to give to a fictional character. My ideal description would be "a prosecutor with a badge and a gun," someone who both kicks down doors and prosecutes cases. Does this job exist?
A few more details inside.

For the EMS/medic/police/etc. group, a question - how do you cope with what you see on a daily basis? Does it wear on you, psychologically? Any other tips for someone looking at going into the EMS field? Tips for one looking into the police field, specifically women officers? [Bunch of long-winded questions inside! =P]

When a weapons cache is seized by the U.S. military, does the military destroy the weapons or absorb them into its own arsenal? Does the same apply to fissile material? When drug money is seized or found by local law enforcement, does that local jurisdiction get to keep the money if all requisite investigations do not lead to the money being returned to a legitimate owner?

Hypothetically...on some police shows and movies, there are scenes where the police are questioning some person, usually a "known" crook. The crook is smart enough to not provide any info, but is coerced into being helpful, and instead of telling what he knows, insists that all the info he's providing is "hypothetical." e.g. "hypothetically, if so and so wanted to rob the bank, he would've done A, B, C." Does insisting that what you're saying is "hypothetical" really work in real life to stop law enforcement from using what you say against you?

I'm applying for jobs that require a local law enforcement background check, and I suspect that it's turning up information that's [really] detrimental to being hired! What kind of information could they be finding? How could I find out what's on my background check? Finally, is there any way to delicately address these issues in job applications/cover letters without digging myself into a hole?
