I've had a black leather jacket for four or five years, and the jacket itself is probably twenty years old. I never had it stain anything until I began wearing white button-up shirts to work, but now I have a bunch of shirts with dirty collars that don't wash out. What can I do?

I have a lot of sweaters. They're not particularly great sweaters (no wool or cashmere), but I like them and I would like to wear them more. However, I don't have a lot of room in my laundry room to lay them out to dry, so they just end up in a laundry basket and sit there for ages because I can't figure out how to efficiently wash and dry them. How do you handle laundering a lot of sweaters with limited space for flat drying, and how often do you do it?

I've got a handmade all-cotton knot-style quilt that was made by my mother. Since she has passed away, this is of course a very precious item to me, and I don't want to do anything to damage it. It is, however, in desperate need of a wash. Is this something I can just throw in the machine? Is there anything I should be wary or warned of? This is something I'd love to ask my mom's advice on, but, ha ha! Added difficulty level: I live in New York and send my laundry out.

My boyfriend has an awesome new t-shirt with a large, thick, flat image screened(?) on the front that bunched up and creased after the first wash-and-dry. Is there a way to get rid of the creases and folds in the image? And then what's the best way to care for it from here on out?

I have mutant sweat that seemingly alters the color of every shirt I own: whites turn sweat-stain-beige and most colors get bleached. Can I do anything to prevent or treat it, or am I stuck wearing the three colors that aren't affected?

MeFites, I need you to lay some dry cleaning knowledge on me. Do I need to take my suit skirt to the dry cleaner's if a small amount of beer was spilled on it while out with colleagues yesterday? Please help a laundry-vs.-dry-cleaning rule challenged gal figure it all out.

I need a laundromat in Madrid, Spain. They seem to not exist and the threads online that list a few are quite old and the locations no longer exist (see:
this thread and note.
Surely this is not so. If none exists, an acceptable laundry service that will, for a reasonable price, wash and dry clothes without heavily perfumed (or perfume free) detergent [not a dry cleaning] will do... preferably near Gran Via, but anywhere will do at this point.

When using a shared laundry room if someone puts a basket with clothes and whatnot in front of the washer you are using do you have to let them have the next wash even if you are not finished with all of your laundry? What if your other loads are in the apartment and therefore not visible to the person? Is it even polite to set your basket down like that? What if there are very few washers? Or only one?
I googled all around to try and find a satisfactory answer to this but I am not finding it, so I am asking for a collection of opinions!

LaundryFilter: I recently bought some stretch cotton pants. According to the label, stretch cotton is defined as c. 97-98% cotton, with the remainder being spandex. Unfortunately, that very same label informs me that I'm supposed to line dry these pants, which is enormously inconvenient for me. Could I get away with putting these through a few minutes in a regular dryer on the low dry/delicates setting or would that destroy the pants?
