Help me design an oven for curing foam latex!

I'd like to design a box-style oven that is of dimensions suitable for curing (“baking”) prosthetic appliances made of foam latex, for special effects makeups. I have some tutorials to base my plans on, but if you know about how ovens work, I have some questions about how I can refine the design. [more inside]

Does it still make sense to learn Latex?

I'm just starting graduate school and am researching different tools. One that appeals to me is Latex, but I'm wondering if it's seen as archaic or anti-social/collaborative these days. I'll be learning/writing about social/information science.

Can my mattress be bad for me? Help me separate reality from woo.

We've been waking up headachy and cranky in a room that always acquires a "stuffy" smell overnight (which in retrospect smells a lot like said mattress). We chalked it up to bad air circulation until we opened up the mattress, which to our untrained eyes looked awful. But we're not chemists, and on this question the internet is rife with woo. Can the mattress really be causing our sleep issues? [more inside]

Overheating in bed, steps to take - sleep filter

I haven't been sleeping well. Including all winter. I have a crappy polyester comforter and Target Jersey Cotten Sheets, and a $600 10 inch memory foam mattress from Amazon with two memory foam pillows. So - basically everything that would make me overheat. Would adding a Latex Topper to the mix fix a lot of problems? [more inside]

Experiences with Kluft mattresses or other advice?

We have been searching for a mattress for quite some time. The only mattress that we both unequivocally love is the St. Claire Kluft Latex mattress. It is rather firm, supportive, non-bouncy, doesn't transfer motion, and in general felt very 'solid' and comfortable. But Kluft is one of those luxury brands that doesn't seem to publish much on how the mattresses are constructed, and we can't find any reviews of this model or even any other reviews of high-end Kluft latex mattresses. After a few poor mattress choices, we're worried about divots in the bed in a short amount of time, or other general construction problems. Do you have experience with Kluft mattresses, particularly their latex models? Or have any advice on buying this brand in particular? [more inside]

I want an extremely cheap machine to run emacs for writing dumb stories.

I would like a radically cheap computing device that I can run emacs on, and maybe LaTeX. I keep seeing off-brand 7-inch Android tablets at extremely low sale prices at the local discount store.
