Why don't celebrities get in trouble for confessing to drug use on talk shows? I've seen late night talk shows where the guest, and sometimes the host, confesses to using or handling drugs. This might happen in the context of an awkward moment or reminiscence. Sometimes it looks like the guest has used something before the interview (you know, when they come on glassy-eyed and don't know what's going on and the host has to cover for them). Why don't they get in trouble for this? It's confessing to a crime, right? Can police use that information to search their belongings or support a charge in court?

Because nobody likes airplane food

What is the ideal food to welcome someone home with after a long flight, keeping potential delays and an long commute from the airport in mind?

Bonus points for late-night Boston/Cambridge delivery recommendations! I'd love to have a super tasty meal waiting when my boyfriend gets back from Europe in a few days, but besides stew, does anything still taste good after sitting for several hours? Without a car, picking him up will take me at least a couple of hours round trip, so while I like cooking, I'd rather not have to, given all the time and stress unknowns.

He's expressed a strong interest in almost any manner of Asian food, so while I'd be more than happy to just pick up some Chinese or Thai, I'm worried that a late arrival on a Sunday night will seriously limit our options. He really does not want pizza, and eating at the airport seems...non-ideal. I thought about stashing some sushi in the fridge, but that seemed iffy with the timing. Are there any take-out/delivery options that lend themselves especially well to reheating/eating cold? We're near Harvard Square, if that helps any.

Activities for a four-year-old who has to be up in the middle of the night

Midnight activities for a 4-year-old that he wouldn't get a chance to do during the day? My son is having an EEG tomorrow during the day. They want him sleep-deprived so he'll sleep without sedation. I'm supposed to get him up for the day at 3:30 am. He's not a morning person at all, so to keep him awake I'm looking for exciting things to do/observe/etc. that wouldn't be possible during his normal waking hours. We're in the east end of Toronto near the Don Valley, so both big-city and nature/wildlife type activities may be possibilities.

Recommend me some moody Jazz . . . Looking for moody, mysterious, late-night, mid-tempo sounding Jazz; similar to:

Nicholas Payton - Little Re-Re
Chris Potter - Unspoken

Nothing cheesy or too slow or too-romantic please. Muted-trumpet and vibraphone stuff are welcome.

AtlantaFilter: please help me find dinner after 10pm! My workout buddy and I usually leave the gym at about 9:30 on weeknights. Although we eat at one of our houses a good chunk of the time, sometimes my day was too busy to include prepping supper or eating before the gym, so we end up eating out. [Yes, we know it's healthier to eat at home, but that's not why I'm posting.] Many of our favorite places close their kitchens at 10; although the bar might stay open, we're usually not drinking. So, I thought I'd ask the Atlanta hive mind for your latenight spots.

Criteria: kitchen open until 10:30 or 11 (or later), not primarily a bar (i.e. not just fried mozzarella and hot dogs because, after all, we've just been at the gym), not chain fast food, somewhere with salads and something beyond burgers/fries is a huge plus, ethnic is good, prefer nothing with a dress code. Something like Atkins Park or Highland Tap is about as fancy as we want to get on a weeknight. We both live in Midtown, so ITP is required; within the boundaries of Decatur to East Atlanta to Tech to Lenox to BriarVista would be optimal. If it's a smoke-friendly place, it needs to have a smokefree area. Long waits for the check are less than good (which makes Highlander an issue).

On the list already: Atkins Park, Highland Tap, Highlander, Apres Diem, Landmark Diner, Zesto's drivethrough, both Vortexes (Vortices?).

Off the list due to hours (although faves at other times, to give you an idea of what I'm seeking): Roxx, Dakota Blue, Colonnade, Roasters.

Thanks much! I admit that I'm still a little bewildered at how early restaurants close here; I'm a transplant from the Pacific Northwest and New England, so it feels weird to hurry up to squeak into a restaurant by 9:30 before the kitchen starts packing up.

What's another word for the feeling you get after an all-nighter? It's not euphoria, giddiness, silliness, or simply high.. (Too many all-nighters have screwed with my memory recall.)

I was at 8/24's epically late night Tigers/Yankees game, ending around 3:30 am, and am wondering where it ranks among the latest finishes of any professional sporting event. Has any game ever run later? I can't seem to find a list of late night finishes, baseball specific or otherwise - does one exist?
