I have never been to Las Vegas but will be going for the first time this summer as a bridesmaid for my friend's bachelorette party. I am not a Vegas person: I don't drink or club, I don't like being around lots of people all the time, my budget is extremely tight, and crashing at the yucky hotel we're staying at sets off all my buttons in every way. Am I going to be able to realistically make this happen, or do I need to figure out a way to bail now?

Mixed bag of USA travel questions! Feed me for one night in Vegas. Tell me cool things to do and eat in Seattle and Portland (anything special on while I'm there?). Anything I should shop for because it is way cheaper than Australia (everything?!), not available in Australia and is a must have, or lets me take advantage of having US IP address (e.g. Kindle subscriptions)? T-mobile deal for my phone?

I have to go down to Las Vegas for a tradeshow at the Wynn, but the first two days I have a LOT of downtime. There's not a lot I'm interested seeing in Las Vegas, but I do have a fair amount of work I need to get done. Is there a nice or interesting place to squat and get work done? The Las Vegas equivalent of a nice coffee shop for remote workers?

My son and I will be in Las Vegas for two days. This will be our first father/son outing alone together in a long time with no other family around. What are some fun/bonding things to do in sin city? My son is seventeen years old, likes heavy metal (so does his father), video games (so does his father) and japanese animation (unlike his father).

Its roadtrip planning time again! I'm looking for suggestions for quirky, fun, maybe ghosty, campy, interesting places to visit, eat and/or stay somewhere between the Grand Canyon and Phoenix. We were considering maybe somewhere around Flagstaff or Jerome. Especially big bonus points for fabulous places not to miss Halloween weekend in those parts!

We are staying at an off-strip suites hotel in Las Vegas. Found bed bugs after our first night, and after an initially good response, we're concerned we're going to get the run-around from the hotel. Additional complications with pregnancy and chemicals mean that we need to be sure we're bug free without poisoning our little one, but I don't think the hotel has the same priorities...

Hi all! A really good friend of mine is looking for a psychiatrist out here in Las Vegas, Nv. She's had bad experiences with them in the past, and the one good one she found ended up retiring some time ago. She's currently on foreign medication and wants to transition to US drugs, so wants to find a new doc to help with figuring out what she should be on, etc (basically, high anxiety issues and some other things, but a lot of it stemming from some really rough events in her past).
Any recommendations?

So long, sentimentality -- I'm doing Christmas in Las Vegas this year. To that end I am researching places to have dinner on Christmas Day, maybe something traditional-ish and medium-high in price. Any suggestions? Are most restaurants open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? Will I need reservations? Lay your holiday Vegas anecdotes on me!

Emergency trade show display in Las Vegas by Tuesday morning?
My colleagues just went to Las Vegas for an important trade show. We had a lovely display background made for our booth - a
Skyline Mirage. Unfortunately, our guys forgot to take the display on the plane! :/ We need the booth to be ready by noon on Tuesday. Can we get a similar display made in Las Vegas by that time?
Any ideas most welcome!

In a few months, I'm heading to Las Vegas for a conference. I am absolutely not a gambler, but figure I'll spend an hour or two checking out some of the gaudiest casinos and maybe playing some slots. But, for some reason, I also have an urge to try playing blackjack. My question is twofold: 1. What can I expect from the blackjack-playing experience? I've only played slots before and have never interacted with anyone at a casino. How can I keep from looking like an idiot? 2. Any recommended resources for basic blackjack strategy?
