Best Man Planning Bachelor Party For Brother!

Bachelor Party Help! Where are some great restaurants in Hoboken, NJ and NYC that are ideal for a Bachelor Party outing? What about Bar or Lounge locations in NYC that would be ideal? I'm the Best Man for my brother's wedding next month. I'm planning a Bachelor Party and I've never done this before. My brother is a little bit older, (he's 40), so it's not going to be that classic Tom Hanks affair at a strip club etc.

The night will be comprised of 2 halves, an everybody dinner out likely in Hoboken possibly at:

-Zylo steakhouse in the brand new W Hotel in Hoboken
-Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Weekhawken
-BLT Steak (at AOL Time Warner Building on Columbus Circle)

Any other recommendations for great eateries in the local Hoboken or NYC area?

After dinner the 2cd half of the bachelor party is going to be a little more for the younger crowd and off to a bar or lounge. Something similar to Hogs and Heifers or Coyote Ugly type bars. I've been thinking of:

-McSorelys (kind of a sausage fest not first on my list)
-Coyote Ugly

I don't know NYC very well or spots that would be considered hot for a guy's bachelor party. Any suggestions would be most appreciated on how to make his bachelor party extra-awesome.

Thanks!

Which albums sequence their best song in the middle of a side?

Which albums sequence their best song in the middle of a side? By "best", I mean "its biggest hit" or "the one most people associate with the album". Using Who's Next as an example: "Won't Get Fooled Again" or perhaps "Baba O'Riley" - even though I prefer "Bargain" to both of them.

Likewise: "Dancing in the Dark" was the first single from Born in the U.S.A. - but it's not what people remember the record for now.

A perfect example would be "Jessie's Girl" appearing as track 2 on Working Class Dog.

I need Math People to help me find out how long it takes 2 Last (Wo)Men on Earth to meet.

How long should it reasonably take before 2 "Last Men on Earth" meet? I'm writing a story about a post-apocalyptic mathematician, something to do with zombies. Any such character would naturally be inclined to work the following problem in such a situation. My difficulty lies in myself having very few mathematical skills (2 +2 is four, heh heh heh, me smart). So, Hive Mind, assist me!

Question: Assuming that there has been a global catastrophe of Hollywood proportions and most of the human race has died off (or become zombies, etc), and assuming that any lone survivors will, eventually, come to think of themselves as the "Last (Wo)Man on Earth" in the Richard Matheson vein, and assuming a slow rate of travel among these LMOE, how long will it take before 2 LMOE meet, and how many LMOE are there on Earth in total?

Assumption 1: Most of the human race has died off. Let's assume that 99.99% of the global human population is gone, just so we have something to work with.

Assumption 2: Lone survivors come to believe themselves as the Last Man on Earth. Let's assume that it takes 3 months of being alone to come to this assumption. This assumption is contingent on not seeing another -living- human being during this time, so we can expect city dwellers to have a margin of error here leading them to come to this conclusion later than their rural or islander counterparts, being as there should (at first) be more survivors in cities. However, they can't be considered LMOE unless they end of alone, so it may take some time for their fellow survivors to die off and thus the margin of error. If their fellow survivors never die off, they can't be considered LMOE. Let's say any group of survivors has a half-life of 1 week, and no group can begin with more than 8 survivors.

Assumption 3: A slow rate of travel among the LMOE. Let's say, for the sake of the problem, that half the LMOE are home-based and half are travel-based. Home-based LMOE stay within their little "fortified zone" of about 5 square miles (gathering supplies, killing zombies, and waiting out the storm going slowly insane). Travel-Based LMOE move slowly (at about 5 miles per day) due to travel hazards such as zombie hordes, traffic blocks, fires, etc. They're determined to find other survivors and thus keep themselves from madness.

Hidden Assumption 4: The game begins on Day 0. Day 0 is the day when the travel-based LMOE begin moving, the home-based LMOE start gathering supplies, and city-based groups of survivors begin dying off down to single LMOE.

How many days will it take before any 2 LMOE meet?

I realize I am not a mathematician (I am in fact, and English major and the opposite of a mathematician), and so any data that needs to be filled in, altered, or deleted should be in order for the problem to be solved.

Cheers.

Help me get to the beach this weekend!

Where should I look to find a last-minute warm weather getaway on the (relatively) cheap for this weekend? A friend and I have had it up to here with the Northeastern US and want to go somewhere warm with a beach this wekeend (Fri-Sun). We hope to pay $500/person for flight & hotel if possible for three nights. Any ideas? We've checked LastMinute.com but I'm wondering if there are better sites that I might not know about. Thanks!

last minute surprise for my single girlfriends on vday

This is a ridiculous question. It's 12:20AM Valentine's Day morning. I suddenly want to send flowers (or some other encouraging vday-ish gift) to a quite a few of my single girlfriends at their respective workplaces. Am I crazy, is this doable and how?? It's quite a few girls - around 9-10 so ideally the flowers/gifts would be cheaper (~$20 or less?). Is this possible on such late notice? Can I research and call local florists in the morning? Is there any other sort of gift that this would work better with?

How do you prepare or help prepare someone who is dying and then deal with the practical aspects of the aftermath

Questions about the practical aspects of preparing for someone for death and things the survivors need to do after the death.
1. When you know someone is dying, what specific things should they do to "put their affairs in order"?

2. After someone you are responsible for, such as parent, child or spouse, has died, what do you, who do you call, i.e what steps need to be taken to ensure the removal of the body, funeral arrangements etc?

3. Suppose you are caring for someone who is dying, say someone with cancer, and their time is near. Are there specific signs that indicate their death is only a few minutes or hours away, so you can help ease their passing? I've heard it mentioned that the eyes become cloudy almost like they're going blind, is this universal?

4. Why does cancer kill? Wouldn't the virus want to keep the host alive? Or if it does kill, why isn't it contagious, in order to ensure its survival?

Question about changing my last name.

Question about changing my last name. My name on my birth certificate is First name, Middle name, Mother's maiden name, Father's last name. My whole life since birth I have gone by just First name, Father's last name (my parent's names were never hyphenated). I would like to go by just my mother's last name now, so the question is: can I just start going by this name without having to go through some process to file papers with the state? The name is already on my birth certificate so is it necessary?

How long does Gesundheit last?

How long does saying "Bless You" or "Gesundheit" last when someone near you sneezes? I was just wondering how long saying Gesundheit or Bless You lasts after someone in your vicinity sneezes? I work in an office where the sneezes sometimes come very fast and very furiously and sometimes someone will sneeze five times in five minutes.

What's the polite thing to do?

PS Do you secretly resent it when nobody says anything after you've sneezed?

You can't leave NC without ...

Experiences you can have in North Carolina, but not in England? Please help me show my soon-to-leave new friend a good time. She's been here in NC for almost two years (from England and, before that, India). What should she not miss before she leaves? I live in Chapel Hill, she's in Durham/RTP, working at NIEHS doing some kind of genetics post-doc work. Very soon, she'll move back to England to get married to her true love, a physics professor at Oxford.

She's been to the Museum of Life & Science; I took her to tea at the Carolina Inn, though I suspect that she and her fiance will chuckle over their attempt to emulate Britishness. We're all vegetarian, so please don't suggest BBQ. She doesn't want to go ice-skating; she's really rather a proper young lady. She's been to Duke Gardens, the UNC arboretum, and I plan to take her to visit Witherspoon Rose Culture (a big rose garden shop -- she's fond of that kind of rose). She likes only "traditional" plays (not newer edgier stuff, a pity since I seem to have fallen in with an alternative theater crowd).

She doesn't really like animals; she enjoys nature walks and her new craft, embroidery.

Shopping isn't the best idea since, though she can always have belongings shipped, she's moving to a rather small house adjacent to the university.

What experiences are uniquely available here that she might enjoy? I've already ruled out stock car racing and she's confirmed that hang-gliding holds no appeal.

She's a fairly young 32 years old (I think her life has been a little sheltered).

Looking for Guatemalan Last Supper (political piece)

Looking for a photo of the Last Supper - Guatemalan political version. I have been spending the day with my mother and she harassed me into helping her find a photo of a painting.

An except from Ched Myers states:

"There is a painting by a Guatemalan artist, in exile in Australia that depicts the Last Supper against the political landscape of Latin America. Swirling around Jesus in the smoke-filled room is a vivid tableau; woven in and around the twelve disciples are military generals cavorting with high-class prostitutes..."

Apparently it is a great painting that will help them in some church thingy they are doing.

I have looked into both the author Ched Myers whose except was what my mother originally found. I also looked up exiled Guatemalan artists and similar paths.

That fresh feeling

GuyFilter : preventing that last drop. We've all had this (I guess) : no matter how long you wait, or even how hard you shake (or even twist!) it, always you will leave the bathroom knowing that one last drop of urine is gonna soil your pretty underwear - generally when you sit back at your desk, getting that "hu ho" moment.
So, on to my question : has anyone among you found a way to prevent this last drop to happen at random, or the perfect way to "get rid of it" ? How do some of you keep "that fresh feeling" ?
