like this one into the back of an external hard drive, then access the hard drive with my laptop over my wi-fi network?

I am looking for a signal booster that will play nicely on my laptop which has Vista. People recommended EnGenius USB Device but from what I gathered on Amazon, it does not work past XP. I basically need something that I can take with my on the go.
Intel GMA 4500MHD / Intel Wi-Fi / 10/100 Eth is what came with my laptop. Is there a signal booster compatible with Vista?

I've replaced my wireless card, but my laptop still intermittently locks up. The problem occurs whether I'm running XP or Ubuntu, and disappears when I disable the wifi in bios.

We have a wireless LAN with rogue detection. The rougue detection picks up some laptops as rogue access points. It looks like the laptops are looking for the last access point connection they had. We see standard SSIDs like "linksys" and "Free Public WiFi".
Why would the laptops be broadcasting the SSID of the previous access point it was connected to?

Hello, I was wondering what are the standard rules for taking a laptop to a coffee shop or library. My laptop battery only lasts about 45 minutes, so do they allow you to plug in? And also, what are the normal costs of wifi access, if any? Thank you.

One of the things I like most about my iBook is that the wireless adapter is internal and doesn't protrude from the system. Does anyone know of a PCMCIA 802.11b (or g) WiFi adapter for a PC laptop that doesn't protrude beyond the PC card slot?

I want to watch TV on my laptop via wifi. Does anyone know how I can do this? For example, Toshiba's new Qosmio laptops come with a 'Wifi TV Router'. Does anyone else make a WiFi TV router? Or, alternatively, I have another computer with a TV card in it. What software could I install to stream the live TV signal from my server? I know there are streaming video products, but I don't know if any of them can also handle changing channels on a live TV stream. Any helpful suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
