Is
this a good deal? It's a Lenovo G580 Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 2.5GHz 15.6" for $599. My uncle left his job and had to give up his work provided laptop. Thus, he's now using one so old it has windows 2000.

Laptop battery filter: My Lenovo SL510 wasn't charging my battery, and I foolishly assumed it was the battery's problem and bought a new one. But the new one wouldn't charge either. Any advice?

My wife's laptop keyboard is messed up. Whenever she hits "b" it spits out 4b, whenever she hits "n" it spits out 7n. The space bar doesn't work. This is a Lenovo laptop. She did just clean the keypad and she used a damp paper towel, but she didn't seem to spill any liquids into the keyboard. Is this salvageable? Solutions, ideas, help?

Choose-my-laptop-filter. This is, in broad strokes, what I'm considering: 15" Lenovo W520 with the 1080p screen, 16Gb RAM and dual SSDs in RAID 0. Questions inside.

I have a Lenovo G560 laptop that has developed a habit of scrolling down on its own. I've tried everything I could find through Google to fix, including disabling the touchpad and updating mouse drivers, but it is acting as if the scroll-down button is jammed. Please help!

I own a Lenovo Ideapad Y550. About six months ago, four keys on the keyboard popped off and the “A” and “1” key’s require multiple pressings to type. The audio out port on the laptop also broke. It still works, I just have to either hold or tape my earphones inside or it just come right back out.
Should I just go to best buy or some computer place to have it fixed?

Do all new Lenovo laptops, or at least all Ideabooks, have the keyboard light? I love the keyboard light built into the top of the screen, but can't figure out if the Y550 has it, and the vendor has not been able to answer definitively.

My Lenovo T60p gets very hot at the bottom, under the area where the fan exhaust is. So hot I worry that it might burn something. So hot that my computer occasionally shuts down with no warning. I contacted my company's help desk, and they send me a replacement -- all i retained from the original was the disk drive and the CD drive (which i rarely use). Problem solved... for a month or so. But now i am having the same problem again. Is it possible that the disk drive could be getting this hot?? Can anyone suggest other alternatives?

I've worked as a technology consultant and technician for nearly 17 years and in all that time, I have never been so upset by a technology purchase.
About 40 days ago, I purchased a Lenovo X61t (tablet) laptop. One problem appeared immediately out of the box, the other two have developed:
1. Will not enter sleep mode. (Out of the box)
2. Dead pixel in the center of the screen. (developed)
3. Bezel is coming unglued from the screen. (developing)
I would gladly have them repair it, but they've stated to me that they will not do it because they aren't sure whether the bezel issue is a defect or not, the sleep issue could be Vista related, and they allow for a minimum of eight dead pixels.
Am I screwed? Do I have any means to ratchet up the pressure.
Texas doesn't seem to have any lemon laws that would help me here and while I've heard of attempting to contact higher-ups or even small claims court, I am not sure how to do such things.
Any advice?

The battery in my IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad Z60t went out of warranty 4/29/07. When I woke up today, the machine says "Irreparable damage to the battery has been detected. Replace the battery with a new one." Is it really damaged? Could it be a broken sensor? Some kind of software glitch? Is this typical? Is there a better alternative to the
$159 replacement?
