Looking for good Japanese podcasts/listening material

I'm planning on taking the JLPT N1 this December, but unfortunately between work and sleep I haven't been able to squeeze much study time in. Since I have a 2-hour commute every day, and sometimes an hour or two of travel during work as well, I reckon I can put it to good use by listening to spoken Japanese on my iPod. Can you recommend some interesting podcasts or radio programmes (downloadable/accessible without internet) that have a good coverage of N1 vocabulary? [more inside]

Google Japanese Input

I have just started using Google Japanese Input on Windows 7. It works fine, but I would like to be able to switch input modes (i.e. between direct input, hiragana, katakana etc) using a shortcut key. Currently I have to click on the language bar to switch, which is a pain. I looked in the properties and can't see an option for shortcuts. I tried googling but can't seem to find an answer either. Help in Translating Japanese

I have a Japanese friend whom I occasionaly write e-mails in japanese. I used to study Japanese at the University but as I didn't practice for a long time I almost forgot it. Sometimes I don't know how to write something in Japanese and internet Dictionaries doesn't help. So the question is if anyone know good internet communities or forums where I can get help with translating some bits into Japanese? Thanks!

Frustration leads to anger, anger leads to shame, lather, rinse, repeat

I've lived in Japan for some time now, but I'm not very good at the language. When I encounter anything beyond the simple, and I don't understand what's going on, I feel frustrated, then angry, then ashamed, which undermines any confidence I have to speak the language, which makes it less likely that I'll do better the next time. What can I do to break this cycle? [more inside]
