Can you suggest some place to buy custom return address labels, who have a good reputation and tasteful templates? Google has a thousand tacky options that all seem the same.

Music Nerds! I'm looking for insight into record labels, promotion, sending demos, et cetera.
I play shoegaze-influenced electronic music that falls somewhere between Lush and Boards of Canada (links are in my profile) and am looking for record labels that would be interested in doing a release. More questions follow.

People who either travel with "gear" (broadly defined) or have to pack "gear" for work--how do you preflight what you're taking, make sure you have it when you go out, and make sure you bring it back when you return? Bonus: how do you label things so that it makes its way back to you if your protocol fails?

I make mailing labels by pulling information about specific real-world locations into small database files. I used to get MS Access-ready DBase files, but now I have to work with CSV files, which don't seem to play well with Access. Please help me get more use out of Access, find out how to convert CSV to DBase or similar file types, or figure out better ways to use Excel. Long version inside.

I'm about to send out about 100 envelopes (6 inches high by 9 inches wide) that I don't want bent. I'm going to have "Do Not Bend" labels printed, and plan to request that the envelopes be hand-stamped at the (U.S.) post office (and/or ask whether I can hand-stamp them myself at that location). The question: Where is the best place on this size of envelope to put a "Do Not Bend" label?

I'm looking to have a small run (a few hundred) of labels printed for a food package. This package is a frozen plastic bag with one flat side that has room for a sticker about 2 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches. We would like to get the labels printed and then hand apply them ourselves.

I have good uses for white plastic (HDPE, recycling code 2) vitamin/supplement bottles, but the labels are hard to get off. Most solvents don't seem to work. Submersing in hot water for a bit and then scraping with a dull knife while glue is still hot works, but getting off all the glue residue this way is very tedious at best. Better ideas?

I'm having some trouble creating labels in Word for Macintosh 2004. I'm working on a project now that requires that I print a number of labels (8 1/2 by 11 sheets of these guys, Avery labels, printed out on your standard inkjet printer), numbered one-by-one in sequential order, 1, 2, 3, and so on (about a thousand or so of these, each number contained in one label).

I am flying soon. I would like to bring a bottle of water to security, a nice plain Muji style bottle, with a custom label on it. What should be pasted on it for this lame, meaningless, nearly silent protest? What will not get me violated or detained, but will clearly state the idiocies of fear we are now enduring?
Or is this horrible, this idea?
