I've got three new baby kittens with no mother, and I need to feed them. I don't have access to any good pet stores or veterinary clinics, but I do have lactose-free baby formula and a plastic syringe with the needle removed, which I've been using to feed them so far. But is there a foolproof method of holding them or something to get them to drink from it? I can usually get them to drink, but only about half of the amount recommended. More details inside.

The lady friend and I live in Los Angeles and are going away for about a week. We are looking for someone, probably a law student, to come stay with our kittens and take care of them. How much should we offer to pay?

My SO's parents have been hosting a pair of foster kittens since said kittens were born to a feral momcat in their yard on May 26 of this year. They're now old enough to be adopted...but I'm having a terribly hard time figuring out how to help find them homes. I'm in the Bay Area, California (near San Jose) and while there seem to be a number of cat rescue groups, I have no idea how to choose one or go about contacting them. Flurry of kitten-shaped snowflakes within.

Kitten health panic question! Short version: Six-week old kitten hyperventilates when sleeping after meals. Breathing is extremely rapid and shallow, kitten can't be roused. Healthy, active, playful and feisty in all other ways. More details inside.

Sorry but I have a sort of weird name-this-kids'-book question: Two kittens are trying to protect each other. I remember a couple of disjointed scenes and some dark themes of self-sacrifice, bravery, and loss. Please tell me I didn't imagine this.

I just popped out to my shed, and found a hissing emaciated cat. I chased it away (I like the birds in my yard), and as it shot off over the fence and up the road, I found kittens.

The Mr and I are seriously considering getting a pair of kittens. We've worked out most of the logistics that this would entail to have the happiest and healthiest cats possible, but he did raise one question that hadn't been a concern with my last cat. His daughter lives in a house with 3 cats. At least one of these cats is indoor/outdoor, our cats would be strictly indoor. When his daughter comes to our house on the weekends, are we putting our cats at any risk of disease?

Is it a bad idea to trap a pregnant feral cat so that she can give birth indoors, the kittens can be socialized, and she can be fixed so there's no more kittens? This seems like a no brainer, but recent events have me worried.

[Kitten-filter]: My partner and I would really like to adopt a kitten (or a pair of kittens). The only problem is that every year we leave the country for at least a month, and can't take them with us. Will this be a problem?

I have searched previous questions, as well as Google and can't find the answer to this question. My friend rescued five kittens, estimated to be 2 1/2 weeks old. She is at a loss as far as feeding. Her efforts with bottles, milk, canned foot, etc. are not working. Can you help? Anyone with experience?

Although we've been following the standard advice of slow introductions, our new 14 week kitten and 2 year old cat seem to have fallen into a pattern that we're concerned will negatively impact whether or not they ever get along at all! Additionally, we have time constraints and the longer we keep them separated, the more miserable the kitten seems to be.
