We have adopted two kittens, yay. I've had the sniffles almost the whole time we've had them. Halp. [more inside]
On the off chance that someone round here has some experience with cats and cat appliances, I have some questions.... [more inside]
We brought home a second cat yesterday in an effort to give our existing cat a playmate. They began interacting nearly right away, and I'm not sure what to do about overnight arrangements. Additional sleep-deprived ramblings inside. [more inside]
Hi, after the sudden and unexpected death of our beloved pet cat on Sunday, we've decided to adopt two kittens. We are finalists for the adoption and will meet them on Saturday. The kitten we are basing the adoption around is a white male shorthair. We are working on finding him a littermate or bonded kitten to come home with him. I want to name him Jon Snow after the Game of Thrones character because he is one of my favorite characters (also...winter is coming, people!). [more inside]
My friend and I found two abandoned kittens when we walked her dog last week. We saved them from the street, but neither of us can keep them (she: single mom who can't afford two cats; me: in Hoboken, NJ and already have two cats). She's willing to foster, but can only do so for the rest of the week as she's leaving for six weeks a week from today. They're great - playful and affectionate with each other and they turn on their motors as soon as you pick them up. She got an offer to make them barn cats, but they seem too sweet and gentle for that. They've been to the vet and are about 12 weeks old. They're being spayed tomorrow and will soon be ready for a home. My friend called a local rescue organization, but they don't have any foster homes available. Does anyone have any experience with a good rescue near Merritt Island, FL?
Help! There's a feral cat right outside my door. I think she(?) might be either sick or about to have kittens. What (if anything) should I do? [more inside]
I have two six-month-old kittens. I am worried I'm not giving them enough food. Advice? [more inside]
The feral cat we've been feeding somehow managed to keep three kittens alive during some very cold nights this spring. Now they're 6-7 weeks old, too young to trap and neuter. We love having them around but our near neighbor, an elderly man who is also our landlord's father, is afraid of them. Really afraid. He won't go into his garden now, which he loves, in fear of an "attack." We need to find a way to get them to a place where they can live out their lives, together if they want to be (we know the males leave the colony, don't know if any are). Now they're afraid of cages. I've got three new baby kittens with no mother, and I need to feed them. I don't have access to any good pet stores or veterinary clinics, but I do have lactose-free baby formula and a plastic syringe with the needle removed, which I've been using to feed them so far. But is there a foolproof method of holding them or something to get them to drink from it? I can usually get them to drink, but only about half of the amount recommended. More details inside. The lady friend and I live in Los Angeles and are going away for about a week. We are looking for someone, probably a law student, to come stay with our kittens and take care of them. How much should we offer to pay? [more inside]

My SO's parents have been hosting a pair of foster kittens since said kittens were born to a feral momcat in their yard on May 26 of this year. They're now old enough to be adopted...but I'm having a terribly hard time figuring out how to help find them homes. I'm in the Bay Area, California (near San Jose) and while there seem to be a number of cat rescue groups, I have no idea how to choose one or go about contacting them. Sorry but I have a sort of weird name-this-kids'-book question: Two kittens are trying to protect each other. I remember a couple of disjointed scenes and some dark themes of self-sacrifice, bravery, and loss. Please tell me I didn't imagine this. [more inside]

I just popped out to my shed, and found a hissing emaciated cat. I chased it away (I like the birds in my yard), and as it shot off over the fence and up the road, I found kittens. [more inside]
The Mr and I are seriously considering getting a pair of kittens. We've worked out most of the logistics that this would entail to have the happiest and healthiest cats possible, but he did raise one question that hadn't been a concern with my last cat. His daughter lives in a house with 3 cats. At least one of these cats is indoor/outdoor, our cats would be strictly indoor. When his daughter comes to our house on the weekends, are we putting our cats at any risk of disease?
Is it a bad idea to trap a pregnant feral cat so that she can give birth indoors, the kittens can be socialized, and she can be fixed so there's no more kittens? This seems like a no brainer, but recent events have me worried. [more inside]
[Kitten-filter]: My partner and I would really like to adopt a kitten (or a pair of kittens). The only problem is that every year we leave the country for at least a month, and can't take them with us. Will this be a problem? [more inside]
I have searched previous questions, as well as Google and can't find the answer to this question. My friend rescued five kittens, estimated to be 2 1/2 weeks old. She is at a loss as far as feeding. Her efforts with bottles, milk, canned foot, etc. are not working. Can you help? Anyone with experience?
How can we help facilitate our brand new kitten and our 2 year old cat to get along (or at least tolerate each other)?
Although we've been following the standard advice of slow introductions, our new 14 week kitten and 2 year old cat seem to have fallen into a pattern that we're concerned will negatively impact whether or not they ever get along at all! Additionally, we have time constraints and the longer we keep them separated, the more miserable the kitten seems to be. [more inside]
