I've got three new baby kittens with no mother, and I need to feed them. I don't have access to any good pet stores or veterinary clinics, but I do have lactose-free baby formula and a plastic syringe with the needle removed, which I've been using to feed them so far. But is there a foolproof method of holding them or something to get them to drink from it? I can usually get them to drink, but only about half of the amount recommended. More details inside.

The lady friend and I live in Los Angeles and are going away for about a week. We are looking for someone, probably a law student, to come stay with our kittens and take care of them. How much should we offer to pay?

My younger friends are roommates and want to jointly adopt a kitten. When I asked some follow-up questions about who would be the real owner of the cat (since they'll likely not live together for the animal's entire lifespan) it seems that they assume they'll just give the cat up if neither wants to take it to the new home. I am, shall we say, not a fan of this plan. They both think I'm overreacting. They are also not very keen on simply fostering instead of adopting. What to do?

My very playful kittens love their litter boxes . . . a little bit too much. How can I encourage them not to play in the litter boxes, and more importantly, not to take their poop out of the litter box to play with?

We just adopted
two kittens, YAY! They are from a shelter, so they just got neutered and spayed today, but they are actually too small for the smallest e-collars (which we have). Thus, problems.

My SO's parents have been hosting a pair of foster kittens since said kittens were born to a feral momcat in their yard on May 26 of this year. They're now old enough to be adopted...but I'm having a terribly hard time figuring out how to help find them homes. I'm in the Bay Area, California (near San Jose) and while there seem to be a number of cat rescue groups, I have no idea how to choose one or go about contacting them. CatFilter: My family recently inherited a bushelful of cats, including quite a few kittens who are getting to the age wherein they need to be fixed lest they start producing more (inbred, in this case) kittens with each other! There are a lot of cats, however, and minimal funding with which to fix them. Does anyone have any recommendations for the cheapest spayings/neuterings in the Northern Virginia area? Thanks!

Sorry but I have a sort of weird name-this-kids'-book question: Two kittens are trying to protect each other. I remember a couple of disjointed scenes and some dark themes of self-sacrifice, bravery, and loss. Please tell me I didn't imagine this.

The Mr and I are seriously considering getting a pair of kittens. We've worked out most of the logistics that this would entail to have the happiest and healthiest cats possible, but he did raise one question that hadn't been a concern with my last cat. His daughter lives in a house with 3 cats. At least one of these cats is indoor/outdoor, our cats would be strictly indoor. When his daughter comes to our house on the weekends, are we putting our cats at any risk of disease?

Is it a bad idea to trap a pregnant feral cat so that she can give birth indoors, the kittens can be socialized, and she can be fixed so there's no more kittens? This seems like a no brainer, but recent events have me worried.

Although we've been following the standard advice of slow introductions, our new 14 week kitten and 2 year old cat seem to have fallen into a pattern that we're concerned will negatively impact whether or not they ever get along at all! Additionally, we have time constraints and the longer we keep them separated, the more miserable the kitten seems to be.
