I have a gas range that was left in the rain for a short time (about a 10 minute, moderate rain). Will it still work?

Looking for advice/reviews/comparisons/details on simple, inexpensive under-cabinet vented range hoods. Not interested in the luxury "home-improvement porn" design-y stuff. This is not a sexy appliance, and I don't need it to be. For pete's sake.

I live in an apartment and when I cook (indian food) the whole place reeks of exotic spices. Does anyone know of an airpurifier that will filter out the offensive odor. I do not have a outside vent in my kitchen.

My wife once threatened me with death if I ever dared present her with housewares as gifts. "I want
real gifts" said she. Fifteen great years later, she wants good bakeware for Christmas. Good is defined as "won't ever rust" and "not that floppy silicone nonsense". So, Mefites, Hope Me!

My kitchen is systematically going on strike. Last week, my kitchen faucet stopped working. The sprayer thingee still works when the water is on. All other water appliances still work. Just no water from the kitchen sink.
The next day, my roommate tells me that the garbage disposal isn't running. Everything else on that circuit is running fine.
What to do? How do I fix this? Do I call an electrician, a plumber?

My just-out-of-warranty electric cooktop died recently, and my handyman came up with the idea that it was feasible to replace it with a gas cooktop. Today, the project was finished up, and I now have
this dandy cooktop in my kitchen.
The only problem is that I've never cooked on gas before (other than on a propane grill).

A couple of days ago, I was googling around for help when it came to cooking rhubarb and cherries together. I found a recipe that looked really good that called for baking them wrapped in tortillas with butter, sugar, and I don't remember what else. Now I can't find the recipe any more. Any suggestions on how this might work?

How can one tell the production history of a microwave oven? I bought a GE JES1656SJ at Best Buy today. Got it for a good price. Went home, Googled the model number. Very few hits. Nothing at epinions or consumerreview. Not sold at amazon. On the GE website itself, I found its page (with some effort). On this page it said "Sold Only at Lowe's" (the chain hardware/appliance stores). The fact that I bought this elsewhere notwithstanding, is there anyway to find out if this is an old/defective/dangerous/unpopular model? Is it unusual to produce specific models for certain outlets? The oven is still in the box pending the results of my investigation. Thanks.
