Does kissing feel different after years together?

I know that familiarity with a long-term partner plays a part, but I'm curious: for those of you who have been with the same person for 5+ years, do you find that when you kiss passionately, it doesn't have the same melty zing, even if you're very attracted? I was recently thinking back over all of my previous relationships, and realized they were so short that I never had much of a chance to experience change. I'm female, late twenties, and engaged to an awesome, sexy guy. But I noticed a shift in how I feel about kissing. It's enjoyable, it makes me feel connected, but I get turned on a whole lot slower. Kissing used to be my go-to for instant "voom."

I theoretically want to reach out and touch someone.

I’m a 31-year-old straight woman living in the US and not at all religious. I've never been a big fan of physical contact unless it's with someone that I love. I never remember a time, where I looked at random guy or celebrity and thought, "Wow. I'd really like to kiss him." As I get to know a guy, I might or might not become physically attracted to him. It typically takes several dates though. This weekend, I'm going out for the 4th time with a guy who I am still not sure about. I like spending time with him, but I am almost dreading going out again because I feel like after four dates, I should at least kiss him. I don't think I'm ready to kiss him though. [more inside]

Am I really a good kisser?

Almost every woman I've kissed has told me that I'm a “good kisser.” I've spoken to a couple of male friends about this and they've been told similar by the women they've been involved with, which makes me suspicious. How seriously should I take it when she tells me I'm a good kisser? Is this just something that people say to people they’re interested in regardless of accuracy?
