What is this German hairstyle? As seen recently in Berlin on a hip young man and not-hip young child, it seemed shorter on the top than on the sides but not a mullet (my memory is a little hazy), like it must have been a traditional quick n' easy home haircut possibly done with clippers but not something I've ever seen in the states. Bonus: how do you achieve this hairstyle?

What activities shall I take my two years old to? I have been getting great answers here over the years. thanks all!!
my son is about two and half now. my wife stays home, so he is not going to day care.
weekends are all about mall shopping and eating out, and not much else. i have this concern that we may miss out some great activities for a kid at his age.

My 6-year old nephew is currently obsessed with space travel. Having nerdy parents & grandparents, he already owns two supersized model rockets, and a whole shelf of books about the Moon, planets, and space in general. With Christmas approaching, I'd like to give him something different-but-related. Ideas?

What kind of activities can I put my daughters in that, if pursued to a certain end, have the potential to end up on a resume? Example: “ability to swim” is not something you’d put on a resume. But “Certified Lifeguard” is.

I know I'm a chronically early planner, but bear with me. I have two questions about the upcoming holidays:
1) Organizations similar to
this one that sends shoe boxes of toys to needy children.
2) Random acts of anonymous kindess but AT WORK.

Help me teach my 7-year old to SEE! I love my 7-year old son beyond words. He’s creative, cheerful, smart, and loving. However, he truly doesn’t
see the world around him. My 4-year old daughter is much more aware of her surroundings. I don’t want to change him, just help him learn how to open his eyes and be more aware of his environment. The fact is, I have been the same way he is for most of my life, and I’ve learned recently that life is not only easier but more fun when you’re aware of your surroundings. I’d rather he not have to wait 30 years to improve.

I am a 25 year-old gay(-ish?) male living in New York City. Perhaps uncharacteristically, I have a really strong drive to have kids (of my own) and really want to do so in the next five or ten years. I'm torn about how to get there though, given relationship difficulties that hinge largely on unresolved issues relating to my sexuality. Warning: TL;DR potential, but significant context is necessary.

How can I ensure my kid isn't being penalized for his disabilities in school? He's a 13-year-old 7th grader who's been diagnosed with OCD and ADHD (hyperactive type) and is on meds (and receives therapy as needed) for both. He is a reasonably smart, very chatty little dude.
In a recent discussion with one of his teachers, I discovered that he's being penalized and verbally reprimanded for calling out in class.

I live in NYC, where there are classes for children starting at birth. Baby yoga and soccer for 18 month olds and visual art as soon as they can stand. What are the best ages to start learning specialized things (assuming one is interested), like piano, ballet, swimming, baseball, soccer, chess, trapeze, animal husbandry, foreign language, martial arts, theater, etc.? I took gymnastics when I was nine and found that anyone who was competitively good at it had begun at six.

My four-year-old daughter got a haircut the other day, and as part of the haircut, the stylist sprinkled what looked like glittery talcum powder on her face and hair. She loved having "sparkles" on her face and hair all day and was sad when she had to wash them off in the bath. I'm not sure how this stuff works, but is there anything affordable and low-maintenance that I can get for her to help get her sparkle back?
