Where to get a "do not duplicate" key duplicated?

The outside door key for my apartment building has "do not duplicate" stamped on it, but I want to get a copy. I'd rather not contact the landlord. The local hardware store has refused and the "make it yourself" kiosks at big box improvement stores don't work for this type of key. [more inside]

Getting keys for 2012 Honda without any existing keys

Someone close to me has lost the only key to her 2012 Honda. Assuming they will never be found and there are (just go with me here), what's the cheapest way to get new keys made? I suppose it doesn't have to be electronic if that will save $$$. [more inside]

My laptop keyboard is slowly dying. Help?

I've been using a laptop for a little over four years now (started Win7, is currently Win10; problems persisted throughout) and it has the strangest issues that have popped up over the years, which each on their own is a cute quirk, but all together is gradually making my computer unusable. Help us find this key--or as close to it as possible

My friend just introduced me to and older SyFy miniseries called The Lost Room, and I've gotten a little obsessed. I found replicas of the key fob featured in the show, but I haven't found anything close to the key itself. Here's a collage of images of the key from the show. [more inside]

Landed in JFK without my keys. Does anybody deliver on a Sunday?

Be glad you are not me. :) I just landed at JFK without my apt keys. I'm going to stay with a friend or get a hotel tonight. There has GOT to be a service that can deliver the keys same-day Sunday, right? FedEx says no dice. (Courier service?) The keys are in Hilton Head, SC. Thank you! Worse things have happened to people, but goddamn I am an idiot.

We have a new house! Now if only we could get in.

We got the keys to our new house! Specifically: We got around ten keys. Mostly not super-well labeled. The place we are moving into is currently divided into three separate apartment units. Last night we spent about an hour futzing with various keys. We were able to get into two of the three apartments. But we were unable to find a key that could open the door to the third one. What's the most surefire/easy way to unlock a car door without the key?

I sometimes lock my keys in my car, my friends do sometimes, I like to be uber-prepared, i already carry around jumper cables, and a small repair kit, and I'd like to add a car door unlocker kit to my car. I see a slim jim is a common tool, and an inflatable bag thingy. Is this the best way? Will it damage the paint/car? What are my options? Thanks.

Are there any bike locks that don't use bulky/fragile plastic keys?

A few weeks ago, my bike lock left me stranded after the stupid plastic key handle broke off, leaving the rest of the key trapped inside the lock (and leaving me trapped four miles from home, in the rain). Similarly, the weird plastic key handles add a lot of unnecessary heft to my keychain. Are there any decent bike locks that use "normal" keys? Bonus points if I can get multiple locks that use the same key.

Can you get a key copied at 6:am in NYC?

I know there are 24 hour lock smiths that will open a door at any time of night if you're locked out. But is there a place that is actually open where I can walk in and copy some keys? I'm getting the keys in a week apparently and I don't have to return them until noon, but unfortunatly I have to be at work at 7am. This means I need to copy them before I get to work that day. Any possibility of doing this?

I've been reading about locksmith scams

I bought a new 2012 Toyota Corolla LE. I received 2 Master keys (Smart keys with buttons) and a valet key (starts the car, but doesn't open the trunk). The dealership wants crazy $ to make more keys. They're equipped with an immobilizer, so only those keys can be used to start the car. I want a spare that will open the doors in case I lock myself out, either for a Hide-A-Key under the car or my wallet. Will a $3 duplicate from a hardware store accomplish this? If not, is there a cheap way to go about it?
