I feel like if I knew more about amplifiers the symptoms of my Roland KC-550 would narrow down my problem significantly. Only the tweeter works (and it works fine), and the two other speakers are totally un-driven across all channels. Does this indicate anything about the issue? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth having repaired and/or if I can repair it myself.
Hi, I have 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, and two desktop computers to use with a 3-monitor setup. I would like to know the best way to use a triple monitor setup where I can click a button and switch back and forth between desktop A and desktop B for the single keyboard/mouse and the monitors. Consolidating files onto one machine is not an option. Are there devices or hubs I could plug the keyboard/mouse/monitors and desktops into that can do this? Amazon links would be great.
I can't find any Bluetooth 4.0 keyboards from any of the usual places. This makes me suspicious. Alibaba has some, but I'd prefer to buy a single one from somewhere I have used before. What's going on?
I'm looking for a keyboard that a) lets me play along to lit-up keys and b) allows me to either add my own music for it to decipher or tell it which keys I want to light up when I play a song. [more inside]

I use an ancient MS Natural Keyboard, but the main thing that's relevant here is the key mechanism. The Goog will show you models old and new. I recently took mine apart, cleaned the plastic parts with water, got it nice and clean (years of accumulated cookie crumbs, etc.) The problem is - now the keys are kind of stiff. For example, if I strike them at a slight angle, they don't depress as smoothly as before. The standard advice online is to clean a keyboard to prevent sticky keys, but I have the opposite problem. Is there some kind of lube/oil/spray I can use?
I have an electric, piano-weighted keyboard that I want to learn how to play. I can't afford lessons right now. It has MIDI in and out connectors. Is there a hardware/software combo that will take that MIDI out connection, plug it into an Android or iOS tablet, and provide a more interactive teaching experience? [more inside]
Help! My family member ask me to help install a printer (a Lexmark x5470) on her laptop. I installed the drivers and then, when I restarted the computer the MOUSE AND KEYBOARD DONT WORK. I can't login! I can't do anything! It even happens in safe mode, I am running windows 7 family premium, 64 bit on an hp laptop. Help me not ruin Christmas,
I have recently acquired the keyboard for the IBM 5150 Personal Computer. It also came with a DIN-5 to PS/2 adapter, so I plugged into my desktop, and everything screeched to a halt -- typing occurred very delayed from the key presses, mouse became inoperable. Is this the keyboard, the adapter, some software incompatibility, or something else completely? [more inside]
My hands and my wrists really hurt doing any activity that engages them, I don't see my doctor for until December 29th, and I have things I need to get done involving my hands. Looking for some ideas/short term solutions to keep functioning until I see the doc next in a couple weeks. [more inside]

I've had a new computer set up for me at work and the keyboard is being a pain. For some reason it is reversing the keys I need to strike to get @ and " as well as a few others. I've asked around and other people here have the same problem, but have just got used to reversing the keys. However I am too impatient and lazy and I want it to work right. Apologies for all the stupidity to follow but I know nothing of techy things. [more inside]
I'm running hashcode's Android 4.2 ROM on a first-generation kindle. Is there anyway to hook up a keyboard? It does not have Bluetooth, and I haven't had any success with OTG cable and USB keyboard ... Any ideas? While I'm at it, is there any way to take a screenshot on 4.2 without a volume button?

I have a Thinkpad T430. I can type anywhere up to 120 words per minute. When I type certain words at high speed my system freezes for a split second - long enough to be noticeable and to break my rhythm but not long enough that anyone watching would probably notice. Sometimes it registers the key-presses, sometimes it doesn't. What's going on here? [more inside]
My wife is a keyboard player (I play guitar) and we are trying to use our new MacBook Pro for our practice sessions. She got her MIDI keyboard to play through Garageband but wanted better piano sounds, so I bought Mainstage 3 for $30 (after Googling the question). Mainstage 3 has much better sounds like Hammond B3, Rhodes, etc. [more inside]

hey everyone. A while back I took my Roland Keyboard into the shop and was told there was cat hair between and or under the keys. The man fixed the keys and told me to protect the keyboard from this. And I did, for a while. I know this makes me sound like an idiot, but as time went on, I completely ignored the man's advice, and now it's happened again. I do not want to take the keyboard in to be fixed (at least not by the same guy) and was wondering if there was a way I could clean it from home. If anyone is aware what kind of tools i might need, I would appreciate it. I am not going to let this happen again it if I can fix it. If anyone can help, it would be awesome!

I'm troubled by a mysterious bug on my MacBook Air. It manifests itself when I use Microsoft PowerPoint, but I believe it is a Mac-wide issue. It is extremely rare, impossible to reproduce on demand, and yet - when it strikes, it does so with a vengeance, and embarrasses me in front of a theater full of people. [more inside]
I type in multiple languages on Mac OS 10.6.8, and I need to be able to use keyboard shortcuts to jump immediately to specific input method rather than cycle through them with Command-Space. (For example, I'd want to be able to hit, say, Command-Shift-1 to switch to U.S. Extended no matter what the current input method is.) How can I set this up?
Could a musical person possibly tell me the notes of the keyboard part in Camera Obscura's "Happy New Year"? I don't really need it in actual musical notation on a staff or anything--just the names of the notes is fine. Thank you in advance!
I have a table that I bought from IKEA which is a bit like this: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/S29806818/ and the problem I have is that while the screen on the table is fine, the keyboard which is right in front of it seems to me to be too high for my arms. So I was wondering if it is possible to install that sliding part you find in computer tables like this one: http://img.weiku.com/waterpicture/2011/10/25/0/office_furniture_computer_table_634592490678635461_1.jpg and what that part is called anyway? Thanks! [more inside]
I really enjoy playing piano as a hobby. I've played in worship bands for 3 different churches, and played in a few local bands as well with live gigs. But I don't think I'm very good, and I'm not sure how to improve. [more inside]
I inherited an old, first-generation iPad. I'd love to get a portable keyboard for it so I don't have to lug my ridiculously huge laptop everywhere. I've been doing some Googling, but it's hard to sift out keyboards that will work with the old, obsolete first-generation devices now that it's 2013. I want actual hard keys. Is an Apple wireless keyboard my only option?

My daughter has a Yamaha psr-260 that we picked up at a garage sale. It did not have a power supply and used batteries to power up. Since the batteries have died, I have found a power supply that seems to match the piano's requirements on the back of the unit: DC IN 10-12V. The power supply says Input: AC 120V 60 Hz 20W and Output: DC 12V 1000mA with a matching polarity symbol (the plus is inside the minus). [more inside]
My young daughter (kindergarten) will be starting piano lessons soon, and the teacher wants us to buy an 88 key digital piano with weighted keys - that seems to be about $500 minimum. However we're not sure the lessons will stick, and as a bonus we are space-challenged in our small house. For about $160 we could get something that is still big but not 88 key big, touch-sensitive keys instead of weighted keys (i.e. Yamaha NP11, open to other recommendations). We are piano ignorant, so don't know how to judge the trade-off. Should we suck it up and buy the big boy, or will it not matter at this stage of learning?
My Mac's 10-year-old bluetooth keyboard is acting up, and I'm pretty sure that it's death is imminent. I'd like to find a replacement, but Apple long ago stopped making full-sized wireless keyboards -- what are some good alternatives that exist in 2013? [more inside]

I have just started using Google Japanese Input on Windows 7. It works fine, but I would like to be able to switch input modes (i.e. between direct input, hiragana, katakana etc) using a shortcut key. Currently I have to click on the language bar to switch, which is a pain. I looked in the properties and can't see an option for shortcuts. I tried googling but can't seem to find an answer either. I am looking to get my Mom and iPad sleeve or carrier, to protect it from kicks, drops, scratches and whatnot while it is in her purse. There seem to be about a zillion of these around, in so many styles that my head spins, but I think what I want is along the lines of this. The problem is it also needs to fit a Logitech Ultra Thin Keyboard Cover as well as the iPad, and I can't read that from the specs page. Does anyone have experience using a similar Bluetooth keyboard/cover with a sleeve and can recommend one that works? I'd like something small, and not aesthetically unpleasing, because Mom is going to be much more concerned about if it is light and looks nice then if she can throw it off a building. That said, I am buying it to protect the iPad. [more inside]

Based on this thread, touch typing has changed people's lives. I have been watching my fingers type for more than forty years, so I may not be able to make the change, but I'm willing to put forth a good effort. What software-based training program is likely to be effective to help an adult fast finger-typist become a fast(er?) touch typist?

Looking for recommendations on a low end keyboard for the Kindle Fire 8.9 HD model. Hoping to get something on sale $30-40 (and i do realize this limits quality a bit...). I need to order it today if possible. Again, not expecting any whiz-bang but something rather basic and simply functional.

Is there a case that can hold both my Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and not allow buttons to be pressed? I carry this around with me and use it habitually in tandem with my laptop and magic trackpad because they save me considerable finger, neck, and wrist pain. However, because of how I store the keyboard in my Timbuk2 Command size medium messenger bag (in the red sleeve flush against my laptop), the buttons get pressed, and the battery degrades when it isn't in use (by me). Does anybody have suggestions for how to get past this?
