I use an ancient MS Natural Keyboard, but the main thing that's relevant here is the key mechanism.
The Goog will show you models old and new
I recently took mine apart, cleaned the plastic parts with water, got it nice and clean (years of accumulated cookie crumbs, etc.)
The problem is - now the keys are kind of stiff. For example, if I strike them at a slight angle, they don't depress as smoothly as before.
The standard advice online is to clean a keyboard to prevent
sticky keys, but I have the opposite problem.
Is there some kind of lube/oil/spray I can use?

Microsoft Word 2010 doesn't seem to recognize some of my keyboard inputs. Maybe due to the language my keyboard is set. Can't figure how to customize or otherwise tell it that a [set keyboard shortcut] is already equated to a [set character]. [more inside]

I often write in several languages (French, Dutch, and English) and so I use multiple keyboard layouts (on Windows 7) and multiple editing languages (in Microsoft Office 2007). I find that when I have Word open and I change the keyboard setting in Windows (from US to US-International or vice-versa), Microsoft Word will change the editing language back to English (United States), Word's default language, no matter what other language (Dutch or French) I was working in at the time. Whats wrong with my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 7000? It sometimes types random characters and other stuff. This keyboard is almost the same as the 4000 version as well in case you have one of those. [more inside]

I've just bought a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 7000
, which comes with the matching mouse (8000). It works great with my Windows XP computer, as long as the computer is on. Once I switch the computer off and attempt to restart, the Bluetooth connection is lost and the computer won't start, citing the lack of a keyboard as the reason. Only by repeatedly fiddling and resynching can I get the computer started up. Can anyone suggest how I bond these three devices in permanent holy matrimony?

I picked up a very cheap Microsoft Office Keyboard today. It works great on my Windows 2000 machine with the software provided, but the Mac software included on the CD is for OS9, and I want to run it with my KVM switch into my G4 iBook (OSX.4).

The 1, Q, A, Z, R & I keys on my Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite stopped working all of a sudden. Another keyboard plugged into the same computer works fine, so I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue. Is there anything I could do to fix it?

My microsoft natural keyboard broke last night for the last time. I am very sad because it was the full sized model with the USB ports integrated on the back and not the pussy elite version. Can you still find these models?
