Southwest Ireland (Tralee, Co. Kerry) this May. With a toddler and a 73 year old in tow. We'd like to find a cottage to rent and stuff to do. Also, basic logistics and any other travel tips would be appreciated. Can anyone help? [MI]

I live in Oregon, and our elections are all vote-by-mail. In an effort to get out the vote, there are organizations (like ACT) accepting ballots all over Portland. There's a lone man with a Kerry sign outside my apartment complex accepting ballots who seems to have no organizational affiliation whatsoever. Does anyone know any non-confrontational ways to make sure he's legit? more inside...

What did Bush say to Kerry after the debate last night? [more inside]

After reading this, and especially this, I'm wondering what will happen if Bush is relected? I'm not asking for an answer based on fear, but conjecture on actual policies he's supported in the past, and has said he would support in the future. Because someone pointed out to me that Kerry can't fix most of those problems (at least with the plans he's made public). So would life here in America be the same either with or without Bush; and if so, how can someone like me, just one stay-at-home mom, make positive changes?

Last night's debate made me think of something I heard regarding Kerry's senatorial campaign strategy boiling down to banking everything on his endgame (it may have even been in the Blue, but good luck finding that...). Is that true? Can someone shed some light on his previous campaigns?

Bush and the Oil Cartel have driven the price of oil up. Will John Kerry do the same for Ketchup ?

Excuse my naiveté: is Bush vs. Kerry the first modern presidential contest between two members of the American equivalent of the aristocracy? Call them patricians, preppies, rich kids, "old money", members of the upper or property-owning class; whatever. What does this mean, if anything? It looks significant seen from old Europe. [Given that Kerry is, like the Kennedys, a Catholic, I suppose WASPs no longer mean much in this respect.]
