I'm not happy with the way I look or feel. I haven't been for a long time. I'm severely overweight, have high blood pressure with a family history of heart disease and diabetes, wake up with back pain every morning, have zero energy if it doesn't come in the form of an energy drink or shot, and just generally look like hell. What can I do to lose over 80 lbs and get myself to a healthy BMI for a 24yo 5'8' male when my brain acts like it really, really just wants to have me die of a heart attack by 35? Snowstorm inside. Fruit juice is confusing. How do I figure out what's healthy versus what's not, and what about natural sugar? Even though the juices I'm using don't have sugar added, there's natural sugar, right? Are 3 pints of fruit juice and carbonated water each night, spread out between 7pm and midnight, bad for me? [more inside]

We are interested in juicing everything from leafy greens to soft fruits to beets/carrots. I love the idea of the Omega J8003/8004 because of how good it is supposed to be with kale, and I love the idea of making nut butters and pasta, but I would hate to not be able to make pineapple or kiwi juice. Is it really as terrible for soft fruits as some reviewers claim? [more inside]

I have a bunch of pickles just hanging out with no brine. Just pickled cucumbers, right now sitting in a bowl loose. I have a big jar I can put them in, but...what liquid should I put in there with them? Do I need any liquid, or will they keep without? If I do need liquid, what kind? There are a *lot* of pickles. I have water, a variety of vinegars, and about a cup of brine that's in another pickle jar that I could maybe repurpose.

Through a strange set of circumstances, we recently came into two high-end blenders, and I'm having a hard time figuring out which one to keep. We were first given a Ninja BL660
and I've already used it a bunch. It's approximately 1000x better than our old blender. It turns out, I LOVE the single-serving glasses for quick smoothies and protein shakes because it saves washing the huge jar out. Then we were given an insane Vitamix Pro 750
which looks like it'll do anything except my meal planning. We really only need one blender: we already have a food processor, and a stick blender. What is the advantage of the Vitamix over the Ninja?
Bonus: any great smoothie or juice recipes? [more inside]

I make a big batch of green juice each weekend and freeze it to enjoy throughout the week. The taste is fine, but I miss the velvety texture of fresh juice. Mine freezes into layers and, when defrosted, is more "water with a lot of pulp" than juice. [more inside]

I am on warfarin therapy permanently and, as a result, I cannot use NSAIDs (aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen, etc.) easily. I have been thinking of tart cherry juice
as an alternative.
Do you have any experience with tart cherry juice for arthritis or other pain and inflamation?
If you are on warfarin, what alternatives to NSAIDs have you tried?

The first night I was in Japan on vacation, I got a drink out of a vending machine that was a combination of apple juice and condensed milk. It was surprisingly good, and while I looked for another can throughout our stay in Japan, I never saw that combination again. What did I drink, and how can I get some in America?

We are creating a tablet that purifies water and delivers a nutritious "juice". However we are designers, not chemists, and we need some basic guidance.
Would it be problematic to combine chlorine (or preferably, a safer purification chemical) with a vitamin-based juice powder or liquid? Are there any health dangers to consider with this mixture? [more inside]

Sometimes when I drink really sugary drinks quickly, especially soda or juice, I get really uncomfortable chest tightness for a few minutes. (If I sip them it's usually fine.) Why does this happen?

Riddle me this... Fruit: Healthy and delicious! Fruit juice: Fattening and delicious! But what if I have a kickass blender that liquifies everything and I can put the whole fruit in the blender. To me, it becomes juice and therefore is fattening, but I've read that "since it contains the pulp" it no longer is, which seems like BS to me because it no longer has the consistency of pulp. What's the truth?

I have two weeks off for christmas and I would like to use that time to do a very effective liver, colon, kidney cleanse. Can someone please give me a detailed plan including which order to do the cleanses; I've heard to do kidneys before liver so you can properly flush. I'm interested in what my meals should look like (juice fast, master cleanse, raw foods) as well as what supplements are helpful to expel crap from my guts. My goal is not weightloss. I tend to breakout in rashes after meals and I plan to slowly reintroduce foods after the cleanse to gauge what foods I have negative reactions to. It might be relevant to mention that I eat fish and eggs and cheese but no other animal products. Thanks for all your help.

I recently went to China and was so excited to drink corn juice! They also had corn ice cream available on a stick. Now I'm home in Chicago and I'm craving those flavors. Do you know of a place I can buy them? I tried Chinatown but didn't have any luck.

Girlfriend diagnosed with diverticulitis two days ago, admitted into hospital for IV antibiotics, hopefully being released this afternoon.
Still awaiting discharge instructions, but anticipating she'll be on a low-residue, liquid only diet for a week.
Looking for ideas/recipes on soups/juice/smoothies to prepare for her so it's not the same old chicken broth and orange juice every day.
She may be advised to limit dairy intake (milk/yogurt) to under 2 cups a day.

Does anyone remember an orange drink called RealGold Orange Juice? It was a concentrate that came in a little can about the size of a can of tomato paste? This was about 30 plus years ago and I remember my grandma always bought it.
