After juice shots from a shop kept me going on a recent vacation, I'm interested in learning more and making my own. I have no interest in buying a juicer; I'm looking for things I can make with pre-made juices, oils, supplements, etc. A few more details inside. [more inside]
I have a giant Concord grape vine on my fenceline. (4' chain link fence, the neighbor planted it. Don't ask.) It produces grapes, yay! OTOH, it produces insane quantities of grapes. Help me figure out what to do with them? [more inside]
I am a longtime vegan who hates raw vegetables. Can you give me some blended juice and/or smoothie recipes that minimize the vegetal taste as much as possible without forgoing fresh veg altogether? Difficulty level: No celery, please, I cannot bear the idea of eating or drinking celery in this lifetime. [more inside]
Is mixing this cranberry juice with equal parts seltzer genuinely healthier than drinking something like ginger ale (Canada Dry, nothing fancy) or just healthier on paper? Assume that at the most I am drinking no more than 16-24 oz per day of either the cranberry/seltzer mix or straight ginger ale.
Is it ok to substitute grapefruit juice for lemon juice in throat soothing warm drink with honey? [more inside]
I left some home-made pineapple syrup out all night - is it safe to use? [more inside]
If I buy a freshly-juiced juice (i.e. I place my order, watch them extract the juice from the fruit and vegetables, and then receive the juice), is it necessary to consume the juice immediately to gain whatever health benefits are coming my way? If I take the juice back to my office and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours, before retrieving it, giving it a stir, and drinking it, am I missing out on the optimal juice experience?
Bought a bottle of (refrigerated) pomegranate juice at the grocery store this morning. Forgot about it in the bag on the counter for about 7 hours before I remembered and put it in the fridge. House is air-conditioned. Bottle was cool to the touch but not cold. Can I use it in a recipe that calls for boiling the juice? Or did I kill it?
My friends and I would like a drink we haven't tried (i.e. not a screwdriver or other widely consumed drink). We're none of us big drinkers so we each contributed stuff that's been hanging around in a cupboard unused. Here's a list of what we gathered: [more inside]
I'm not happy with the way I look or feel. I haven't been for a long time. I'm severely overweight, have high blood pressure with a family history of heart disease and diabetes, wake up with back pain every morning, have zero energy if it doesn't come in the form of an energy drink or shot, and just generally look like hell. What can I do to lose over 80 lbs and get myself to a healthy BMI for a 24yo 5'8' male when my brain acts like it really, really just wants to have me die of a heart attack by 35? Snowstorm inside. [more inside]
Fruit juice is confusing. How do I figure out what's healthy versus what's not, and what about natural sugar? Even though the juices I'm using don't have sugar added, there's natural sugar, right? Are 3 pints of fruit juice and carbonated water each night, spread out between 7pm and midnight, bad for me? [more inside]
We are interested in juicing everything from leafy greens to soft fruits to beets/carrots. I love the idea of the Omega J8003/8004 because of how good it is supposed to be with kale, and I love the idea of making nut butters and pasta, but I would hate to not be able to make pineapple or kiwi juice. Is it really as terrible for soft fruits as some reviewers claim? [more inside]
[Stainremovalfilter] Spilled some delicious beet juice on my aqua blue sweater. It's silk and cashmere. [more inside]
I have a bunch of pickles just hanging out with no brine. Just pickled cucumbers, right now sitting in a bowl loose. I have a big jar I can put them in, but...what liquid should I put in there with them? Do I need any liquid, or will they keep without? If I do need liquid, what kind? There are a *lot* of pickles. I have water, a variety of vinegars, and about a cup of brine that's in another pickle jar that I could maybe repurpose.
Through a strange set of circumstances, we recently came into two high-end blenders, and I'm having a hard time figuring out which one to keep. We were first given a Ninja BL660 and I've already used it a bunch. It's approximately 1000x better than our old blender. It turns out, I LOVE the single-serving glasses for quick smoothies and protein shakes because it saves washing the huge jar out. Then we were given an insane Vitamix Pro 750 which looks like it'll do anything except my meal planning. We really only need one blender: we already have a food processor, and a stick blender. What is the advantage of the Vitamix over the Ninja? Bonus: any great smoothie or juice recipes? [more inside]
What recipes do you have for the leftover pulp from a juicer? [more inside]
Is it healthier to drink fruit juices or to avoid them? [more inside]
I really enjoy Coke. (Yes, the soda.) I need a sugar-free or lower-sugar alternative beverage to drink at work. It's for dental reasons, not diet. Any ideas? [more inside]
I make a big batch of green juice each weekend and freeze it to enjoy throughout the week. The taste is fine, but I miss the velvety texture of fresh juice. Mine freezes into layers and, when defrosted, is more "water with a lot of pulp" than juice. [more inside]
You like to juice! Say you were to purchase a box of seasonal produce to juice for the week, what proportion of greens/fruit/veggies would you want this box to contain? [more inside]
I am on warfarin therapy permanently and, as a result, I cannot use NSAIDs (aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen, etc.) easily. I have been thinking of tart cherry juice as an alternative. Do you have any experience with tart cherry juice for arthritis or other pain and inflamation? If you are on warfarin, what alternatives to NSAIDs have you tried?
The first night I was in Japan on vacation, I got a drink out of a vending machine that was a combination of apple juice and condensed milk. It was surprisingly good, and while I looked for another can throughout our stay in Japan, I never saw that combination again. What did I drink, and how can I get some in America?
What's the best pulp eliminating juicer? [more inside]

I drank some coconut water that has been left out for a long time. Probably weeks. Should I be worried? [more inside]
We are creating a tablet that purifies water and delivers a nutritious "juice". However we are designers, not chemists, and we need some basic guidance. Would it be problematic to combine chlorine (or preferably, a safer purification chemical) with a vitamin-based juice powder or liquid? Are there any health dangers to consider with this mixture? [more inside]
I want to stop drinking Coke and other syrupy sodas. Anybody have easy ideas for soda-replacements? [more inside]
I just watched a documentary and some youtube videos on juicers, and I'm wondering if there is a significant advantage over using a juicer as opposed to making vegetable smoothies with fruit? [more inside]
Please hope me become a master of fruits, vegetables and possibly juice! [more inside]

Sometimes when I drink really sugary drinks quickly, especially soda or juice, I get really uncomfortable chest tightness for a few minutes. (If I sip them it's usually fine.) Why does this happen?
Please tell me all ways in which you incorporate veggies into your diet. [more inside]
Riddle me this... Fruit: Healthy and delicious! Fruit juice: Fattening and delicious! But what if I have a kickass blender that liquifies everything and I can put the whole fruit in the blender. To me, it becomes juice and therefore is fattening, but I've read that "since it contains the pulp" it no longer is, which seems like BS to me because it no longer has the consistency of pulp. What's the truth?
I have two weeks off for christmas and I would like to use that time to do a very effective liver, colon, kidney cleanse. Can someone please give me a detailed plan including which order to do the cleanses; I've heard to do kidneys before liver so you can properly flush. I'm interested in what my meals should look like (juice fast, master cleanse, raw foods) as well as what supplements are helpful to expel crap from my guts. My goal is not weightloss. I tend to breakout in rashes after meals and I plan to slowly reintroduce foods after the cleanse to gauge what foods I have negative reactions to. It might be relevant to mention that I eat fish and eggs and cheese but no other animal products. Thanks for all your help.

I recently went to China and was so excited to drink corn juice! They also had corn ice cream available on a stick. Now I'm home in Chicago and I'm craving those flavors. Do you know of a place I can buy them? I tried Chinatown but didn't have any luck.
I love cranberry juice. It is the best juice. It is delicious. Is it bad for me? [more inside]
Girlfriend diagnosed with diverticulitis two days ago, admitted into hospital for IV antibiotics, hopefully being released this afternoon. Still awaiting discharge instructions, but anticipating she'll be on a low-residue, liquid only diet for a week. Looking for ideas/recipes on soups/juice/smoothies to prepare for her so it's not the same old chicken broth and orange juice every day. She may be advised to limit dairy intake (milk/yogurt) to under 2 cups a day.
I'm by nature a person who likes to keep myself looking neat. I'm having a logistical problem with that. [more inside]
The juice comes out of the juice-extractor, and left behind in the machine is dryish fruit and/or vegetable pulp. Does anyone cook with this pulp? Does anyone have any ideas for cooking with it? [more inside]
I just bought a juice extractor. It's very nice but it takes a lot of space. Help me justify this space with ideas on how to exploit it better. Carrot juice oK. But how about recipes, desserts, sauces? What else could I use it for?
[End of Summer Drinks Filter]: Scandinavian summer is quickly coming to a close, and I need some great ideas for end of summer cocktails! Looking for new and exciting instead of the usual spirit and mixer stuff. Thanks follow mefite imbibers for your advice! [more inside]

Does anyone remember an orange drink called RealGold Orange Juice? It was a concentrate that came in a little can about the size of a can of tomato paste? This was about 30 plus years ago and I remember my grandma always bought it.
