When a company invites you in to interview for a professional position, you spend half a day speaking with multiple people, and then they choose to not contact you in any way regarding the outcome of their search - - is that 100% douchebaggery, or are there legitimate HR/legal reasons they might behave this way? To be clear, I'm just talking about sending a quick email saying, thanks for coming in, we've made a decision, best of luck in future.

I'm looking for full-time work that's more or less within standard business hours. The problem is that I see my therapist weekly and my psychiatrist monthly. I could decrease the therapy sessions, but i'd still be missing work regularly. How do I bring this up with potential employers, and at what point in the proceedings? Or should I refrain from mentioning it? I'm in toronto if that's relevant. My doctors are only available in regular business hours.

I am just finishing up a phd. I'll be defending in September, getting the actual degree in October (I hope). I'd like to get a job teaching English in a private high school, but obviously I'd be applying for the following school year, not the year that's about to start. So what should I be doing this year? I need to support myself, of course, but I'd like to do so in a way that will make me more attractive to schools. I already sub at one school, and am planning on trying to get on the sub lists for some other schools. But is there anything else? What are some short-term or part-time means of employment that school administrators would like to see on my resume?

Internship filter: I've recently started a several-month internship. There is really no work for me yet-- I've been told that in the next few weeks, it will pick up, but as of now I'm basically being given busy-work that doesn't need to be done. How can I deal with this situation? Can I leave for a better job?

I am wanting to move back to a major metro area from my current locale, about 10 hours drive. I've been living in relatively small town for about 3 years now. The job opportunities in my previous locale are much greater and I'm getting tired of swimming upstream. I'd prefer to have work there before moving but it's problematical applying long distance. What's the best way to apply for work in another town?
