What is my next career step and how do I get there?

I’ve spent a couple of years in my current position doing entry-level nonprofit program coordination. It turns out it's not my ideal career field, so I am in search of a new and different challenge. What kinds of positions might I qualify for that would offer me interesting and stable work and help me progress in my career? What can I do to make myself a good candidate? If you do something that I might really enjoy, can you tell me more about your career path? [more inside]

Invited back to interview for a different position...?

I recently had a job interview at a perfect-for-my-current-circumstances employer. I thought the interview was okay but I could've done better. Didn't hear a peep for two weeks. I received an email this Tuesday asking if I could come in this Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday to interview for a different and higher-paying position. I'm looking for some advice on how to handle interview #2 tomorrow. Confusion & mitigating circumstances inside! [more inside]

Should I contact these potential employers, or wait it out?

I had a great job interview last week (on 9/18), and I seemed to be exactly what the company is looking for. I was told at the end of the interview that they would be making their decision in two weeks (week of 9/29, I guess). I sent them a nice thank-you email the day after. I've just now noticed that the job was re-posted on Craigslist today! [more inside]
