I once saw a photo of the physical speaker notes Steve Jobs used when doing a keynote. I'm pretty sure it was spiral-bound, and showed timing directions for every slide, every transition, etc. Does anyone know where I can find that photo again? Thanks!

Hello everyone! Once again I am turning to AskMeFi for advice. The gist of it is: I'm a recent UK-based graduate in a non-finance discipline, and decided to make the move into finance and accounting. So far I have completed the three foundation modules of ACCA International, and am about to start studying for the upcoming F4 exam... and I've started to look for relevant jobs. Of course, the problem is experience (lack of). I've never had a direct finance job, and most positions (including entry-level ones [don't get me wrong; I know it's a long road and I'm barely at the start!]) seem to demand at least 2 years' experience. So, what to do?

Are there any former corporate librarians out there having any luck with getting a job in public or academic libraries? In the corporate library our jobs focused more on online literature research and analysis of information, writing reports and not so much on traditional reference desk work, circulation, or tech services duties--so I don't have much recent experience there. Meanwhile corporate libraries are closing right and left. I can still learn other library roles but everyone wants years of experience.

Need some advice here.
Applied for a job, had a good interview and I have a pretty good feeling they'd like to offer me the job, but...
The job is part-time (20 hrs), no benefits.
As of today, they have another part-time position open which is also a good fit for my combo of experience and skills. I've done this job, and I could do this job again tomorrow.

I have a couple of friends who were hired at retail and fast food places but have never been put on the actual schedule, even after months go by and they follow up with the manager. Is this an employers way of laying someone off? What is the purpose of hiring someone if you don't put them on the schedule? Any ideas about how my friends can advocate for more hours? Thanks so much!

My cousin puts all her business on Facebook. She's around 18 years old and puts all sorts of drama on her wall, mainly centered around her boyfriend. I'm concerned not only for her well-being with this guy but also finding a decent job once she decides to grow up. She's very cool and comfortable with me. Is there any way, I can approach her with this, without making her feel like a 2-year-old?
