Online listings for academic education technology jobs in North America

A UK colleague, who has worked for about a decade at various management and director levels in the UK academic sector (Education technology projects and services) is starting to consider moving abroad, but continuing the same line of work. His contact network in the education/academic sector outside of the UK is weak, and he doesn't know where to start looking online for positions in USA or Canadian Universities, Colleges, and Education Technology services and businesses that serve academia. Which are the good websites, and online listings, for these kinds of positions?

Marketable Skills - quickly!

I'm a woman in my early 40s with no real marketable skills that make me stand out in job hunting. I currently have a job in Montreal, but I'm originally from Toronto and for various reasons, I'm planning on moving back. I'd like to learn some skill(s) in the next 6 months or so (planning on moving July 1) that will hopefully make a significant increase in the likelihood that I can find a job quickly once there. I need a better job! What's an introvert with a B.S. to do??

Here's my situation: I graduated with a bachelor's in biology, and have had a series of jobs I liked, involving wildlife rehabilitation and working at a zoo... but I've moved and these jobs are hard to come by in my current location, AND, none of these jobs make any money. So what career field can I transition into that could help me take advantage of the fact that I already have a bachelor's degree? [more inside]

Dream Job --> Dream Career

I have a really cool job: I help low-income/minority students get into college.
(It's perfect for me because I'm passionate about educational access and I get to work with young people one-on-one, but I'm not tied down to a classroom.)
Right now, my job is short-term, a la Teach for America, but I'd like to stay in the educational field and turn this job into a long-term career.

My question is two fold: How do I go about finding jobs like this and what sort of educational credentials/degrees do I need to qualify for these jobs? [more inside]

Help me pimp my test prep!

I am taking the Praxix II - Elementary Education (0014) this Saturday. Needless to say, I'm a bit behind in studying. The good news is that I am on vacation this week and have some time to dedicate to the cause. Also, I took my Praxis I in November and scored very well, I am looking for guidance on how to study for the inevitable history, science and theory questions that I have not thought about in the 13 years since I graduated college. I did purchase the REA book, have completed 2 practice tests and am copying the answers I got wrong onto notecards. Does it sound like I am on the right track?

Calling All Architects

What's it like being an architect? What are the fun tasks, the dull ones, and the tedious ones? As an architect in the US, is it hard to be artistically 'independent'; are most architects there doomed to designing cookie-cutter McMansions? Have you ever considered a different profession? If so, what? How does one go from an undergraduate to a full-fledged architect (i.e., what sort of schooling, certification and jobs do you need to become an architect in the US). Finally, what are some schools in the US for architectural training, or how do I go about finding them myself? Answers to any, some or all of these questions would be much appreciated.
