Where can I find a list of the sales rank of NFL jerseys?

How would you find a ranked list of professional sportsmens' jersey sales for a particular league during a particular season? For instance, where could you find a ranked list of the sales of NFL players' jerseys for 2007? I've Googled around and found various articles that list the top 20 or 25 in a particular year. That's a start, but really what I'd like is the source that those articles are based on, so I could get all the rankings, not just the top few. I'm as much interested in seeing the worst selling jerseys (spoiler: I know that the worst seller is New Orleans Saints nickelback Randall Gay) as I am in the best. Also, I'm most interested right now in the NFL — given its seasonal relevance — but I'd also be interested in seeing good data for any professional sports league.

They must be pulling that data from a list somewhere, and really what I'm interested in is seeing that list. Is it available anywhere online? Some of those articles list NFLShop.com as the source, but they don't get any more specific than that. I've looked around quite a bit on NFLShop.com but haven't found anything like this data.

I realize that it is proprietary sales data and therefore might not be available, but I feel like enough of those "This Year's Top Selling Jerseys" stories get published each year that the information must be out there, somewhere.

At worst, would it be possible to do this somehow based on, for instance, Amazon.com sales rankings? Is it possible to do a search on Amazon in such a way that it returns all the products in a category (like NFL jerseys, for instance) listed by sales rank?

Are there any other ways to get this kind of data or at least an approximation of it?

Bonus points if that list contains the actual sales figures, in addition to simply the rankings. Again, I realize that since this is proprietary sales data the chances are slim, but you never know. Again, since so many of those "This Year's Top Selling Jerseys" stories get published each year, I thought perhaps the data might be out there.

Packing for a trip to the NJ Shore. Do you have a check list you use when you take a family vacation in a rented house/condo? more inside.... We rented a house and now I need to think of EVERYTHING we might need there. We're going Aug 1 - Aug 8. I have a husband, baby and a 13 year old. We're staying with other family (FIL, MIL, BIL, SIL (where "IL" is In Law)). Normally MIL packs everything, but this year FIL is very sick and going through chemo/radiation treatment for esophageal cancer at hospital 2 hours away in Philly. I volunteered to work with SIL to bring all that is needed for the week. I've never done this before and feel some pressure not to forget anything.

Do you have a checklist to share or any tips for me to use? Emphasis is on food stuffs, but remember we can buy things down there (Jersey veg and fruit). Bonus points for thoughtful things to bring for FIL.

Looking for traffic accident details

Is there a way to find out details about a particular traffic accident and death that occurred in New Jersey on May 11? The only additional info I have is the name of the deceased. I found out that someone I used to know has passed away due to a traffic accident of some sort. I had fun hanging out with him back in high school, and I'd like to attend the funeral or any remembrance events that might be taking place. Unfortunately I wasn't in touch with him and I don't have a way of contacting the family. I thought of trying to find any published info about the accident which might also contain further info. I didn't find much thru Google. Is there a news/government/community site or instituation that can help with such inquiries? Should I call the police - if so, which one, as I don't know the city where it happened? Thanks.

Where can I buy one of the new '08/'09 season Israel National Team away colors Puma jerseys, like the one pictured here? I'd like to buy one of the new versions of the Israel National Team jerseys that Puma is making for the '08/'09 season in the blue away team colors. I've been to many soccer shopping websites and all I've found are the home color jerseys or ones that don't look quite like the official ones. According to the size chart, I will probably need the XXL size, but XL might work too.

I know this is already a relatively specific request, but if I could find the jersey available at an online store that would allow me to do customizing of the name and/or number on the back as well, that would be awesome, but it's not vital.

And lastly, as a self-hijack, can anyone recommend me the best place to buy soccer jerseys in general online? There are a ton of websites out there and I don't really know who to trust.

How does a Canadian pay US taxes for 2 months of work in NJ?

I am a Canadian who worked for two months in the NJ last year. How do I sort out my taxes in the US? I am a Canadian citizen and resident, and I worked for two months in NJ doing a research internship. Now it is time to sort out my taxes. I figured the easiest way to do it would be using some sort of online software, like Turbo Tax, but it is asking me odd questions, and it seems to be oblivious to the possibility that I am a foreigner who only worked and lived in the US for 2 months (they ask me about my other incomes throughout the year, etc).

Worse yet, when I get to the state tax portion, it insists that I enter a US state for my residence, and a postal code, although for the federal portion it allowed me to give a foreign address.

Any Canadians out there that have been in a similar situation? Can I just go to HR&Block and have them sort this shit out for me? Is it easier to just go through the forms on my own anyways, instead of using this software?

Where can I get 2007 MLS lettering for a Chicago Fire home jersey? I was given a 2007 Chicago Fire, home, replica jersey as a gift. Many places that still have the lettering refuse to sell me the MLS lettering without buying it already on a jersey. Many places also refuse to customize it due to the fact that it's not an official jersey. The lettering has changed for the 2008 season so it's getting hard to find. I'm willing to make my own if I know the font.

Where can I get a hockey jersey customized in the Madison, WI area? I recently received a very nice authentic hockey jersey as a gift and I would like to get it customized with my name and number. The jersey is the 2007 Wisconsin Badgers Men's alternate jersey (http://www.buckyslockerroom.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=5002136).

I'm a huge Badgers hockey fan and I see fans with customized jerseys all the time at the Kohl, but I haven't bothered to ask anyone where they got theirs customized. Any ideas where I can take a brand new jersey to get a nameplate and numbers sewn on in the Madison area? I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

I'm a true fan, but I'm not made of money, and what money I have I'd rather spend on tickets...

Is there an inexpensive source of hockey jerseys and/or lettering/numbering for said jerseys? If it's a bricks and mortar store, I'm in Chicago. I'm willing to buy a replica as long as it looks nice. Specifically I want to get a Patrick Kane Blackhawks jersey. I'm not sure if it'd be cheaper to get a jersey from one place and have another place letter it, but I'm sure there's gotta be some hockey fans out there who've found some good deals.

For reference: An authentic jersey from sources I've found is typically $249, plus $60 more for personalization.

It's between $85 and $115 or so for a replica, and still $60 for personalization.

I am in New Jersey (living in New Brunswick/ working closer to Princeton) for a another month (for work), without a car, and don't really know anyone in the area. How do I keep my sanity? I have been in the area for a month, and will be staying for another month. I have been basically going from home to work and back, and I think I had about enough. My mobility is severely limited for the lack of car, but I imagine there should still be options -- I just can't figure out what.

I am basically looking for suggestions of what I can do to meet people without having a friend/acquaintance to give me an "in", or to just have some fun, keep my mind busy in a non-work sorta way. I tried looking for a pick-up game of ultimate frisbee, but the online searches turn up nothing. Meetup is not very helpful either -- it seems like all the groups are based in NYC, but if you can prove me wrong, I more than welcome it. I am considering going to yoga, because I need to improve my flexibility, but I kinda doubt yoga is a place to make friends. I am willing to rent a car once a week maybe, but I'd need other things to do without a car as well.

I am 30, finishing my PhD, if that helps.

If you have specific suggestion about the area, that would be really great, but if you general suggestions that would be cool too.

Revisiting the Journal Square question

Prior Ask MetaFilter discussions about Jersey City suggest that living in Journal Square is a bad idea. Is that really true? Reading Journal Square is the dumps! last year significantly dampened my and my husband's enthusiasm for moving to Jersey City. But recently I talked with some people who live near Journal Square, and they said the neighborhood is changing all the time, block by block. I've also started finding comments in other places that suggest many parts of the area are safe.

At City-Data, for instance, someone wrote:Where do you get your information??? I used to live on Fairview Avenue which is not far from Garrison St.. This is not a "borderline bad" area. The rough areas of Jersey City are at further south of Fairview Ave, which is south of Garrison. Or do do some non-white faces in the neighborhood make it "borderline bad" in your book? Please stop posting bad info on these forums.

I left a follow-up question there and decided to post it here, too, because I know I'm not the only one in the New York City area who's disheartened by the lack of affordable housing in Brooklyn and Queens and looking for other options.

My husband and I are thinking of buying a house in or near Journal Square. Right now we live in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, so far north that we're practically in Long Island City. (In fact, I walk over a bridge into Queens to take the train into the city every morning.) Our current neighborhood is a mix of Puerto Rican and other Latino families, Polish families, and relative newcomers. Not far from my apartment is one of the most notorious SROs in the city; the Times did a long article early last year on all the drug deaths there. But I have only rarely felt unsafe in my neighborhood, though I've lived there for several years, since before the massive wave of gentification really reached that far north. Now there are coffee shops, but that wasn't the case when we moved there.

We can't afford to buy a place in Greenpoint, and while I'd be happy to live in Jackson Heights (as several of my friends do) or Kensington or Sunnyside or some other area of Brooklyn or Queens that some people on this site would no doubt consider dicey, all we would be able to afford in those neighborhoods -- and this is at best -- is a small 2-bedroom apartment.

Listings for the Journal Square area suggest that a small house could be a possibility.

So what I need to know is this: I am a small white woman. I have lived in New York City for nine years and grew up in Miami. I'm perfectly comfortable living and moving around in neighborhoods where people of any ethnicity reside. I do not require coffee shops, cafes, or darling bodegas that sell seven varieties of brie. I would, however, like to avoid the usual things: being raped, mugged, held at gunpoint, beaten severely about the head and shoulders, etc. How feasible is this in the Journal Square area if I'm going to be getting home around 9 to 10 at night? How about at midnight? Is the area as far south as Lincoln Park dangerous? If so, do the streets that far south of the PATH vary significantly based on distance from the park? Is there a car service I can call from the PATH station if I get home very late?

We are going to look at houses in the area tomorrow night, so I expect that I will have more information then, but I am very interested in hearing from people who actually live in or visit the neighborhood now.Please don't suggest Hoboken or the Grove St. area. For those prices I'll stay east of Manhattan.

Looking for kick-ass internships in the NJ/NYC area. Background is CS, design, and a little bit of everything. The tougher the better. I dream about getting an internship at Google's office in NY or a FogCreek gig, but I know that both of these are tough, so I can't just apply to those two. My academic record isn't bad, a fairly high GPA at a pretty good school (W&M), and I'll be a junior applying next year.

Plus points for:

If it's in NYC, it would be nice if it was paying. After all, New York isn't cheap.

Something that isn't exclusively code monkey work.

Something in Morris County if it's in NJ.

Cool companies - something that's sort of cutting edge, interesting, or beneficial to mankind.

I know, internships usually aren't awesome, but there must be a few cool ones in the mix?

I plan on moving to NJ. Collingswood seems like the best option, are there others? I am planning on moving to NJ (for good reasons that I don't wish to discuss). I currently live in Philly and work in NE Philly. I rely on public transit and have no plans of owning an automobile. Where in NJ can I live that has the following:

* grocery store that is accessible by foot and/or bicycle. Preferably one like Whole Foods.
* Farmer's markets that are also accessible by food/bicycle.
*activities that are inexpensive and not kid oriented like museums.
* 1 br apartments within $1,200 that are located close to train station (upto 20 min walk).
* diverse (racially)

The commute to either the patco station or Market east station from my location should take about 30 - 40 minutes.

Can anyone identify this hockey jersey for me? I found it at the thrift store, the name on it is PROGRAF. Could be a guys name, but it is also a transplant anti-rejection drug. Does anyone know this logo? It does have a sales tag on it and the team listed is PIT. It is a CCM brand jersey. Made in Canada. Thanks, I have searched all over, but I can't match it.

Can I drive with an expired New Jersey drivers' license in Spain? I have a old NJ drivers' license that expired on June 30th of this year. I am going back to renew it in August but in the meanwhile I need to rent a car for work. Is this possible? You can drive with an expired license in the states, but I doubt I will be able to rent a car hear. My hunch is no, but just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.

Where are the best jukeboxes in northern New Jersey? I'm looking for bars with jukeboxes containing imaginative and fresh music selections. From what I've seen most have the usual stale offerings: Billy Joel, Bob Seeger, Meat Loaf, Bob Marley, Van Morrison etc etc., music that Lite FM continually churns out. I' mlooking for new alt rock, americana, hip-hop, r&b and world music. Am I being unreasonable for looking for such places in the suburbs? Or do a few exist off the beaten track?

How can I be forced to pay income tax to two states?

I live in New York and recently started a new job in New Jersey. On my first pay stub, I noticed that I'm paying a state income tax for both NY and NJ (and the tax for new jersey is actually $30 more than the NY tax). How can I be forced to pay income tax to two different states when I only live in one? This seems unjust.
