What are popular stores to buy jeans and sweaters as a gift for a 14 year old boy?

What are popular stores to buy jeans and sweaters as a gift for a 14 year old boy I've never met? I am participating in a charitable "Secret Santa" program at my office, through a local charity we work with. My letter is from a 14 year old boy, who asks for, among other things, jeans and sweaters. The organizer in our office doesn't have any further information from the charity as to preferences, and the kids I'm related to are all a bit younger than 14 and still more interested in toys than clothing.

I'm in Manhattan and happy to go into a store or order online, though I'd like to include a gift receipt in case he needs to change the size or absolutely hates what I buy so I guess places that have a NYC store would be best.

All I know about him is his age (14), that he's living in the Bronx, and that his size is 18 (which appears to be the upper edges of boys' sizing, though if I'm reading sizing charts wrong, please let me know). I'd like to get him clothing he'd actually like, so if anyone has recommendations for where 14 year olds boys would like to shop, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

Where to shop for wallet-emptying denim?

What's the best place to find premium denim near Bucks County, Pennsylvania? I'm in southeastern Bucks County, PA and in the market for my first pair of ridiculously expensive jeans - I'm thinking 7 for All Mankind, Citizens, and the like. Where will I find the widest selection and best service (I'll need some help with getting the right fit) within an hour of here? I am midway between King of Prussia and Menlo Park Malls - they're both about an hour away. Bonus points for something closer!

Sleeping, shopping, and, err, safety in New York

I'm a 19-year-old female going to New York, alone, for a night. I would like to shop, have fun but preferably not get injured/mugged/killed. I'm heading to NYC for a few days at the end of the week. While I will be with friends for most of the trip, on Thursday (the 17th) I'll be staying alone in a hostel. (I'm uncomfortable giving out the exact name, but its very close to the Empire State Building.) Questions I have:

* So I'm 19 and female. The hostel I'm staying in is a co-ed dorm style. Should I be worried? What should I do to keep myself/my possessions safe? I plan to be in the hotel (it has a restaurant and internet access) by dark because I'm not comfortable alone in NYC at night (sorry, small town Midwest girl here). Any other tips?

* Are there any under-21 friendly events, festivals, etc. going on Thursday, either during the day or in that area?

* Shopping-wise: I need a new pair (or two, or three) of jeans. Where can I find quality denim (I'm a fan of Sevens, but anything of that caliber works) for reasonably cheap? At the very least, not full-price. Last time I was there I really enjoyed Strawberry -- anything more like that?

H&M LAD from NYC to H-Town

Is there any way for me to buy H&M LAD fit jeans in the South? I recently took a trip to New York and took the opportunity to shop at H&M. There are NO H&Ms in Texas, where I live, and the closest one is many hundreds of miles away, so it was a neat thing for me. The jeans there, the LAD fit, fit PERFECTLY. They are the first pair of jeans I have liked that much since a very expensive pair of couture jeans I bought once used at a resale shop, but at half the price.

I've been watching eBay, but there don't seem to be any pairs in my size showing up. H&M also has no catalog or internet sales. Is there some way, aside from making a friend in NYC and sending a check, that I can get more of these pants?

Alternately, does anyone know a pair of jeans that fit JUST LIKE the LAD jeans that I could find in Houston, that would sell in the sub-$40 range?

Anyone know where I can find Cheap Monday jeans in Toronto? I'm looking for (men's) Cheap Monday brand jeans, or something similar. I find Queen St. exhausting. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I'm not just going store-to-store looking for a decent pair?

Reasonably-priced jeans for VERY skinny guys?

What stores (in the U.S.) carry reasonably-priced jeans for VERY skinny guys? My son just turned 15 and is in the middle of a growth-spurt (but it's all height, not weight). He looks like a concentration camp survivor, but he's very healthy and energetic. All of his jeans are too short and we're having a very difficult time finding anything in his size. Two salesgirls at the mall helped him figure out his exact size: 29 waist and 34 length/inseam (which, alas, their store didn't carry). So far we've struck out at Sears, JC Penney, Old Navy, Walmart and Target. We found a few styles in that size at the higher-end stores, but they're really out of our price range for something he's likely to outgrow in another couple of months. Most stores carry plenty of styles for skinny girls, but not so much for skinny guys. He likes cargo-style jeans and khakis, and I'd like to find them for under $30 a pair (preferably not online, because he's very concerned about making sure things feel okay and wants to "try before we buy").

Designer Jeans

I'm looking for a pair of jeans I saw someone wearing on the street today. I think I saw the same pair on Gwyneth Paltrow in People recently. They're women's jeans, low-rise, dark-ish, expensive looking, (hot!). They have a horizontal seam across the knee and snaps the size of nickels down the outside of the pant leg from knee to ankle. I've called several department stores and looked online, but I just can't seem to find them again. Help?
