I have a date with my visiting from out of town stepsister this Sunday and she wants to go see some live jazz but nothing too avant guard.
Please help me look cool by recommending somewhere we could go. She's a music teacher and plays a couple instruments so unlike me she probably knows good from bad. Nice cocktails would be a plus and ideally not to far out as she's staying at a hotel in Times Square.

Willkommen Weimar! Looking for the most Jazz-Age places in NYC, ideally with a decadent Berlin feel. Awesome art deco bars, antique cocktails, hot hot neo-retro music where I could breakout a charleston without blush : Where can I find the past? [more inside]

NYCfilter: I'm heading up to the Big Apple this weekend as I got a free plane ticket for my birthday and was looking for a few different things to do since I've been there a few times before. I'm interested in finding out about three things: a unique dining experience, something to do on the 4th, and a great jazz club. [more inside]

Where can Adrian buy contemporary gypsy Jazz CDs in New York City? He's looking for CDs by Biréli Lagrène, Angelo Debarre and other modern guitar players who play in the style of Django Reinhardt. [more inside]
