I just got hit really hard in the chin, directed straight up. I have a mild headache in the front top of my head. I've had concussions before so I have a good idea of what to watch for, but is it even something to worry about with this kind of injury? And...what to do about the teeth?

My odd, chronic jaw & ear symptoms are growing ever more uncomfortable and crazy-making. The specialists I've seen are stumped. I'm hoping the AskMe-verse might have heard of this, or can offer some suggestions, advice, or support.

I've been taking Fluoxetine 20mg for about sixteen months for my anxiety. It's helped a lot in terms of curbing panic attacks and making me less moody, short-tempered and irritable – a huge plus when you're living with someone. My OCD is also much better than pre-Fluox. CBT has also gone a long way in helping me manage the anxiety.

YANMD or dentist: Sometimes my jaw sort of gets stuck closed. I know how to sort of manipulate it to get it open, so it doesn't seem like a big deal, and there's no pain at all. Do I need to see my doctor or dentist?

In two weeks, I'll get both my jaws broken by my oral surgeon. Because of this, I might end up spending a full month on a liquid diet. Can you help me find some tasty alternatives to milkshakes?

Help "a meat-atarian" nourish herself post-jaw surgery. She needs ideas or recipes for pureed-consistency foods "that aren't gross". (Her words in quotation marks - she's very picky about food.)

I have pretty severe TMJ for my age (early 20s) that has been getting worse. My dentist seems competent (I think), but also kind of . . . kooky. Could other AskMefites, especially TMJ sufferers, weigh in on him and his methods?

The
TMD thread, below, made me wonder about my odd condition, which sounds a little like TMD, but not quite. I get a pain in my jaw-hinge sometimes after drinking alcohol. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. Once I start to notice it, I know I have to stop drinking right away. If I have another few sips, it will become EXCRUCIATING. Anyone know what this is or how best to deal with it?
