graph from Japanese to English for me? It's an overview of different paper types used for calligraphy - but I can't read...
This is what google translate got me for the
middle part.

I've been looking for a certain guitar (a Yamaha SG 3000) and have lately been looking on Japanese web sites to see if I can have one shipped from there. I've found one I like the look of, but Google Translate isn't being particularly helpful. Could anyone translate the description for me?

What is the conclusion of this short scientific article in Japanese (
link to the PDF)? It's about the palatability of comfrey for cows, but I don't speak Japanese. All I'd like to know is: did the cows like it or not? (for the record, a common opinion is that the plant is too hairy and that cows don't like it unless it's dried or wilted). There's no abstract so the answer is probably in the last page.

My son has been given what he's been told is a decorative fuchi (collar) from a katana. It has some Japanese characters inscribed on it, and he's desperate to find out what it means - he has been told it's a name, but we have no way of knowing.
Here are a couple of pictures.
Any ideas? Hopefully it doesn't translate as 'Happy Toy Company'. Thanks all.

Do you read japanese? I was given a japanese laptop which has both a Japanese and English (American) character keyboard. I installed WinXP and created an account name and login / PW.
It worked fine then i turned it off. Now the login / PW no longer work. I strongly suspect the problem is the keyboard has toggled to the Japanese character entry mode, while the login / PW is in English characters. And so I am locked out unless I can figure out how to toggle the keyboard back to English. Please view this high res image of the keyboard ( http://bayimg.com/hacgmaABI )and see if you can tell which Japanese character keys or key combination might toggle the keyboard between the two character sets. Mucho Arigato!
