My friend does a ramen night every so often, where he makes ramen completely from scratch. I'm often tasked with dessert because I'm a blogger and baker... I've already made plenty of desserts with black sesame and green tea so I want to try something new.
I have taro powder and was originally going to do something with taro and coconut. I already even made taro marshmallows.
But then I remembered that I had bought a bag of kinako/soybean flour some time ago and I should use it... I found a recipe for a kinako chiffon cake but would an ice cream be better? [more inside]

I would like to build a Pandora station around traditional-sounding Asian music. Flutes, harps, shamisen, koto, guanzi, erhu, etc. Basically, I want to create the kind of setting that you might find in a quiet tea house. Or the ambient music you might hear watching a movie where a monk silently tills the monastery grounds.
But, to get started, I need to provide some particular songs or artists from which I want to build the station. My practical knowledge of music from that area of the world is practically nil, so I could a helping hand.

There's a giant Korean supermarket not terribly far from where I live (the mega Hmart
in Burlington). It's enormous--big enough to have small aisles dedicated to different Asian groceries--a Thai aisle, an Indian aisle, a Japanese aisle, etc. It's far more than I'd ever be able to explore on my own. What items available in a truly excellent Asian supermarket should I seek out? This is pretty much a pan-Asian free-for-all, so if you have a favorite Indonesian mustard, or an unforgettable Cambodian pickle, please share here. Bonus points for sous-vide-able items! I am a caucasian male, who has always been very attracted to asian girls. Specifically Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese. I am a member of the regular dating sites okcupid, eharmony and chemistry, but I am not having a lot of luck finding my true love. Any tips? [more inside]

I really really love all types of Asian cooking that involves noodles (banh pho, udon, ramen, whatever!). Problem: kosher asian noodles are crazy hard to find in my neck of the woods. Could you help me out by suggesting cookbooks or websites with great make-it-from-scratch noodle recipes? [more inside]
