First of all, I am deeply sympathetic to the disaster in Japan, so I am sorry if this is tacky. But I was already looking to buy a new Honda within the next few months and want to know if because of the circumstances I should jump on it
now. [more inside]

a potentially worse disaster than Chernobyl, where will the fallout travel based on current prevailing wind and airflow models? I would specifically like information about how this may affect Hawaii where I live.

Japan-themed gift for a 12 year old boy. He's interested in anime, video games, and all things Japanese (even though he doesn't really know that much about Japan). A book with lots of photos would be great, but adult ones have too many words, and kids ones have too little real info.
This book looks perfect, but it's not releasing until this summer.

Once upon a time I saw a few episodes of a japanese TV show about a girl who runs an okonomiyaki restaurant (I think?) in Japan who travels the country with her cast-iron griddle looking for her father. Every episode ends with her in a cook-off against some random person. It was on TV in the Bay Area and subtitled. What the heck was this show? It has defeated even my powerful google-fu.

Antidepressant question: Milnacipran?
I'd never heard of it, but I'll likely transition from venlafaxine (Effexor) to milnacipran (brand names Toledomin, Savella, Ixel etc.) soon due to an upcoming move (from US) to Japan. Venlafaxine is not available in Japan.

NYC-foodie-filter: A friend of mine wants to try sushi for the very first time. The game plan is to order a couple of pieces as an appetizer and either proceed to a full entree if she enjoys it or bail and order something different if it turns out that raw fish is not to her liking. Can anyone recommend a Japanese restaurant with equally strong sushi and non-sushi menus for this culinary adventure? I'd prefer a place in Manhattan or Queens, easily accessible from Midtown Manhattan and reasonably priced. Not too fancy.
