I'm looking for disturbing image I came across several years ago. It was a flash shot taken in a completely dark auditorium containing several hundred Japanese college age males, in their underwear in complete darkness. Several were hanging from the wall railings and other falling into the pit below,. I seemed to part of an initiation. Ring any bells?

I'd like to get an XBox360. I live in Japan, but I'm not really interested in playing Japanese XBox360 games. The two options are buying a US XBox360 and importing US region games, or buying a Japanese XBox360 and importing Asia region games (unlike Japanese region games, almost always in English). Since I'd be playing English language games either way, and importing either way, the deciding factor, then, is XBox Live US Marketplace access. [more inside]
I'm a teacher at a for-profit English school in Japan and I want to display a few clips from movies and have students read-along with a script. The problem is, since our school isn't a non-profit, I don't know how to get the performance right, especially since I am in Japan. Is it worth pursuing? It is only for a few classes and not very important, but I thought it'd be a fun way for students to improve listening skills.... Thanks all!

Can anyone recommend any martial arts learning opportunities (camps, workshops, lessons, etc) in Asia that an 18 year old would enjoy? My nephew in the US is a karate brown belt and he would like to travel to Asia when he graduates from high school this year. I am trying to help him find some interesting travel opportunities which relate to karate. He loves karate and has been searching for something to do in Japan or India for Summer 2008 but we haven't found anything yet. Thanks for any tips.

Anyone know what this anime feature length film is? It was produced in the late 70's/early 80's and it had a "Romeo and Juliet" plot. The King of Fire (?) and the Queen of the Sea (??) hate one another. The King has a son, the queen has a daughter. The son and daughter fall in love and can only be together after death, as steam.
We found this comic book (or whatever it is) in the house among the previous owners' things. It was in a box of papers from the 1930's and 1940's but I can't guarantee that it is as old as that. I scanned the cover and a few pages, but cannot read Japanese. It's as thick as a copy of Wired Magazine (many pages). Any ideas?

I've been trying really hard to find this commercial for a long time with no luck. It is from the late nineties I think and it is most likely a cereal commercial. Description: A guy is eating cereal but his long hair keeps falling in the bowl, so he goes to the bathroom and bends over as if he's eating cereal. He cuts his hair so that it won't fall in bowl anymore. Then he goes back and eats cereal without hair in the way. The song playing in the background has lyrics that go: "The time has come for us to say 'sayonara.'" Anyone remember this? Have links to commercial or song? Any info would help.

Hi everyone, I'm planning to stay in Japan for a year start the end of next year. To do that, I need to save money.
