I need to give a demonstration on an iPhone 6+, and need to have full control of the device. Difficulty level: I will not be holding the phone, and will not have a desk surface for a traditional mouse. In a perfect and just world, I would simply be able to connect a bluetooth mouse and use it like any other input device, but I understand that iOS does not support mice. Assume I do not need any multi touch gestures, just taps and swipes. [more inside]
I think the time has come for me to jump the iPhone ship. The announcement of the Google version of the Galaxy S4 at I/O was the clincher. But I am not 100% sold on the idea, mainly because the S4 is an ugly brute, but also because I fear for the apps and innovation I will miss. Help me out, specifically in finding a worthy replacement for my beloved Mailbox app. [more inside]

Australia smart phone filter: I need to buy a new smart phone. I would like one that will allow me to occasionally connect my laptop to the internet. (Tethering?) Clearly I'm not that tech savvy so I don't want to jailbreak (?) etc. Is this possible with any smart phone on the market in Australia? [more inside]
Is it possible to turn an original Motorola Droid into a mobile wireless hotspot by rooting it? If so, what's the easiest way to do that? [more inside]
We're giving our niece an old iPhone 3G to use as an iPod Touch. What do we need to do? I restored it, which seemed to have deleted everything. Took out the SIM card. Looks like it works fine. The only hitch is that the device still thinks it's a phone with phone app icon. And when connected to iTunes it shows my wife's phone number. I think this is only an aesthetic issue. Doesn't bother me that our niece knows her aunt's phone number. Are there any other issues to consider? Will a SIM card be needed for future updates? Should I attempt jail breaking? It's running the latest iOS, for better or worse.

What is the best way to upgrade a jailbroken+unlocked iPhone 3GS from 3.1.2 to 4.x? (details inside) [more inside]
When the first iPhone came out, I bought it as soon as I could and jailbroke it so I could use it on T-Mobile. Now I want to upgrade to the newest iPhone and use it with my existing plan which works great (I pay t-mobile some standard data rate, I don't have 3G, that's okay, and everyone is happy). What are my options? Is this even possible? Any and all resources welcome. Thank you!
