So our big office jade plant - given to ME by a green-thumbed former co-worker and the wonder of the floor - fell over in the night and broke into a million pieces. What do I do? [more inside]
I checked my plants on my porch today and noticed that one of my jade plants had folded over like a popped balloon. Looking around online I think it sounds like it got a bad case of root rot, but is that right, and can I do anything but throw it out? Picture here. [more inside]
A friend gifted me a jade clipping 13 years ago and I since propagated 2 more plants. While I’ve loved and enjoyed them, I’ve never learned enough about proper pruning. I'd rather love to see them grow into shorter, more compact and fuller plants with thicker trunks. Is it too late for this?Perhaps I've let them go too far. Should I make new plants from cuttings? Or can I work with any of these? I like the 3rd the best. Jade Jade 2 Jade 3
Please can you suggest a good place to buy jade bangles in London? [more inside]
My husband has an old, broken jade necklace that I would like to replace. However, he doesn't remember exactly what it stood for, and I have no idea. A brief search has pointed me in the direction of long life symbol. Yet when I search for a long life symbol pendant, a million other things seem to come to the forefront instead of what I'm seeking. Can anyone offer their thoughts? Pendant in Question
Where can I find a replica of the green pendant from Velvet Goldmine? There's nothing like it on Etsy and my Googlefu is failing me.
I've broken my favorite piece of a jewelry -- a solid jade bangle. It dropped on the bathroom floor and broke into 2 pieces (pics 1 2). When I put the two pieces together it doesn't look too bad (i.e. I think it was a "clean break" with no additional tiny pieces missing), so I'd like to fix it. Can I do this myself and will it look not horrible? What type of stuff could I use to glue the pieces together? If the answers to the previous questions are no and none, do you know of someone (jeweler/stone person) who could fix it in the DC/MD area? [more inside]
What should I do with this Jade Plant rescue? I noticed it in the outdoor planter of an abandoned house and grabbed it. It's about 11" tall, and was under a bit of an overhang, so has been pretty much completely starved of water for yoinks. The leaves are all pretty much gray, deflated and leathery, except the very newest baby leaves (which seem extremely new -- but there aren't very many of the new ones). It came out with a bit of a root system, so I think it will be fine to replant, but should I prune it way back? Way, way back? Or leave the limbs but prune them? Or just it let it be to do as it will? [more inside]
My Jade plants have some white fuzz on them and some small fuzzy bug-looking things. picture The bug looking things don't move though. Anyone know what is happening?

I'm planning on buying a Jade bracelet for my wife's birthday and am looking for recommendations on a legitimate place to find one in Chicago's Chinatown (or anywhere within the Chicago-area for that matter)? [more inside]
