I'm using JQuery Datepicker, and I'm trying to get it to change the date format from the default mm/dd/yyyy to yyyy-mm-dd (so I can insert it into a mySQL field). But somehow, despite reading the documentation until my eyes bleed, I can't get it to change! What am I doing wrong? [more inside]

I have some exposure to jQuery, modifying existing scripts, using the $() to grab DOM elements, but want to ramp up to expert status in a short period of time - what are the best resources for that? Is there a must have book or website that isn't overly specific and goes beyond simple uses? I have a firm foundation in regular JavaScript/DOM/etc...

After invoking window.print, is there a way to make JavaScript wait for the user to return from the print dialog screens?
I'm using jQuery to hide a series of items, print the page, and then show the items that were hidden before.
Unfortunately, execution continues after window.print() is called, while the user is in the print dialog screens. As a result, items that were hidden are showing up before the printing occurs. [more inside]
