36 chances to impress me! GO GO!

I have 36 free iTunes Music Store downloads. Any recommendations? While at the Virgin Festival in Toronto this weekend they were giving out cards for free iTunes downloads. Each card offered 3 free downloads. I, being a sleuth, acquired 20 or so cards. After giving many away to friends, I have 12 cards remaining.

This translates to 36 free, legal downloads. So I am putting it out to you to tell me what I should download. Bonus points for good iTunes-specific downloads only available on the ITMS (rare versions, B-sides, odd covers, one-off singles, etc.).

And here are five bands that are good starting off points for my musical tastes, so you're not lost: The Flaming Lips, Otis Redding, Spoon, Pavement and Nouvelle Vague.

(If it makes any difference, I go through the Canadian store.)

Why doesn't Apple want my money?

Why can't I buy music from itunes using a bank account? I have a Paypal account that is tied to my bank account. I don't have a credit card because I'm 16 and I don't think I can even legally get one. I used my Paypal account to set up an itunes account because I got an itunes giftcard. So, now the giftcard is nearly gone and I still want to make the occasional purchase. I apparently need either a credit card or a debit card with Visa or Mastercard on it to use my Paypal account on itunes. Why?? I have money in my account I would like to give to Apple, but apparentaly it would rather I purchased it on credit. Paypal has no problem letting me buy things with the money I have in the bank, but itunes isn't satisfied. Why does itunes need a credit card for purchases? Does it not trust Chase and Paypal that I exist? I can't figure it out. And I still want my music! If anyone has a suggestion that doesn't involve a trip to the bank, I would appreciate it.
