iTunesFilter: I used to own an iPhone, and used Remote to control iTunes at home. I have both Macs and PCs at home, and would like to use both to be able to control iTunes playback on another machine (old system dedicated to stereo in kitchen/living room) remotely. I'd prefer not to use Remote Desktop.

I want to put my itunes library on a shared drive or NAS. I have 2 spare older laptops and was hoping to connect external drives to them and share them. But I have some (a lot of) songs that have filenames not in english. Some are unicode and some are big5 (an asian character encoding). I also want to be able to admin my itunes from windows and mac os or maybe just mac os.

Is there software to automatically manage podcasts on my Rio Carbon Pearl? I'm looking for something that will function like iTunes for an iPod or Zune for a Zune -- keep only unplayed shows on my player, download new shows when I run the software, etc. Are there any iTunes alternatives which will handle this on my Rio Carbon? I'm running XP.

How do I move my iTunes library from my old PC to my new PC? I listen on my iPhone, not an iPod, which I understand does not function in disk mode. I've searched other answers and can't find one that addresses these particular issues, plus the Apple website claims iTunes version 7.0 "fixes" this problem which really makes me nervous. Thanks!

My PC is in the living room. I want to be able to listen to iTunes in the kitchen and the bedroom. I have a linksys router, if that helps. What sort of setup works best for this? Wireless speakers? Which ones. I mostly listen to talk radio and audio books, so I don't need amazing sound. I would love a relatively cheap (under $200) solution.

In iTunes, why do songs I uncheck not play during shuffled playback? I just want to uncheck songs I don't want on the iPod and let 'em play normally in the library. It's easier than making a playlist for the iPod each time I add new albums. Alternatively, how do you manage your library when it exceeds the size of your iPod?
