I have an iPhone5 and an original iPad, which I back up to my PC (running iTunes on Windows XP). However, now when I plug in either device to the PC and start iTunes, all the data is listed as "Other" (in an orange bar across the bottom of the window). Further, when I click "Back Up Now" the sync begins, then stops after a second or two with no error message. Can I recover from this without losing my data?

Is there an iTunes alternative that will easily allow me to drag and drop files back and forth from my PC to my iPhone? My old computer died, and iTunes is being ridiculous, not allowing me to sync to another computer. Should I use MediaMonkey? iFunbox? What's the standard that everyone uses? Thank you.

Macbook and Mac mini server. Both have itunes libraries pointed at an external drive on the mini-server. No problem. My iPhone is backed up to the Macbook. I add music to libraries from both computers. How can I point all my itunes installs to not only one folder, but to all share and update one itunes library.itl file?

iTunes match question: If I "match" 40 gigs of music off of my laptop, I know I can then download tracks to my iPhone whenever I want, but could I ever re-sync it back to another Mac? How about a PC? Do those tracks have DRM on them?

I'm using iTunes 10.5.3.3 to sync my iPhone 4S. (running win xp sp3)
Currently, It's time to format my PC C:\ drive.
I have all my music on the D drive (I don't need to backup songs before formatting C drive)
iTunes currently sync to those files,
and I need to recover iTunes full settings after the format.
(so iTunes could have the same Library and Playlists 'picture' equals to prior formatting.
How can I do that ?
what files need to be backed-up before formatting,
and I can I make iTunes full recover on a new formatted C drive ?

I have 300gb of music, a house, several Mac laptops, a Mac G5, a router, two iphones, an ipad, and several external HDs where the music is stored. I would like to be able to play music anywhere in my house, control it wirelessly without the laptops and update libraries as well as all my devices with whatever I like anywhere in the house, without having to drag out the external USB HD to plug into various laptops like I do now. I'm willing to buy equipment to let this happen. Bonus if it lets me move movies onto a USB stick to plug into my nifty new tv. Details under the fold.

I am new to an apple developer website.
I have register to a apple developer website and paid $99.
I downloaded IOS 5 beta for iPad 2 GSM and iTunes Beta.
After with all the downloads and installations, When I plug iPad to Itunes beta by wire, It says I have to register the device in apple developer site.

What's a decent iPhone app for downloading/listening to podcasts? I am trying to sync my ipad and iphone to my new imac. I transferred all of my information to my new imac from my mac mini via ethernet yesterday. Now my ipad and iphone are recognized by iphoto but not itunes. I checked, and I have the latest version of itunes installed. (I also have 3 separate accounts on the computer if that makes any difference).

On Friday, I used Sn0wbreeze to update my (jailbroken) iphone 3gs from 3.1.3 to 4.0. Everything went smoothly, and I restored all my previous apps and files. I synced the phone a few times that night to get all my settings the way I wanted. Today, I plugged in my phone to sync it, but now iTunes is showing the "Set Up Your Phone" screen, with the options of either setting it up as a new phone or restoring from a backup. What gives, and how do I make it quit?

I have two kids. Each has an ipod touch. Planning on adding two more to the household (mom and dad). Problem: I created an itunes store ID for each kid. Looking backward, wouldn't it have been smarter to create ONE Apple ID for the family, so I can see what is being purchased? I had a recent breach in my credit card and had several unauthorized purchases from Itunes...having one account might have led me to see this fraud a little sooner. (apart from checking my credit card statement daily)
What do you multi-iphone-Touch families do? one account?
If the devices all get registered to one account, can one transfer a paid app from one device to another?
Will apps already purchased be lost if I consolidate the devices under a different username?
Any family Apple device strategies appreciated.
