I like to listen to albums and playlists from my music collection on my iPhone. I don't need a streaming service, or radio, or recommendations, or social networks. I just want a simple user interface that lets me pick out an album (or maybe a playlist) and listen to it. Does such a thing exist for iOS? The built-in music app has gotten way too complicated, and does not work well for me or my family. [more inside]
If I use Apple AirPort to stream iTunes to my television with iTunes TV, does it use up data on my home network plan? [more inside]
iTunes has introduced this "feature" whereby it shows you crap you've bought in the Cloud in your iTunes library. I hate this "feature" with white-hot fire-passion and want to turn it off. Can I?
I am in despair. iTunes is the worst software in the world, and I want out. Help me shed its evil from my life! [more inside]
I burned an audiobook from CDs, but I cannot change the Media Kind. It's stuck on Music. [more inside]
Should be simple, right,? But I am being thwarted at every turn. [more inside]
My iTunes car setup is such that when I start my car, iTunes starts playing my songs in alphabetical order. That means I always hear the song "Abacab" by Genesis first. While I like the song, I'm wondering what other songs out there (available through iTunes Music) might be even earlier in the alphabet that I could hear instead. Suggest them to me! [more inside]
iTunes on My wife's old iPhone 3s has gone haywire; yesterday it spontaneously attempted to download the entirety of our laptop's music library (yes, "manually manage music" is and was checked) and since then there are hundreds of greyed-out songs listed on her phone that do not show up in iTunes when we hook it up to the laptop (and therefore cannot be manually deleted). [more inside]
I have a MacBook Pro. When I connect my iPod Shuffle or my GPS watch, they will charge but will not "show up" as a device in iTunes or my GPS watch program. [more inside]
I have my entire iTunes library on an external hard drive. I have a computer that has no problem accessing the iTunes library on the external hard drive, but for any other purpose refuses to acknowledge the existence of said drive, because it's a powerpc external hard drive. I would like to figure out how to transfer my iTunes library to a brand new external hard drive to use with my new mac. [more inside]
I use iTunes on a MacBook Pro, and my music library will soon be large enough that it won't fit on my local HD. On top of that, I'll likely be adding another Mac to my home network, and would like to share the library between them. [more inside]

My old laptop died, and I purchased a new laptop. I was able to recover the purchased songs from my itunes account, and they show up on my new laptop in my itunes library. However, my ipod won't load songs from my itunes library. It will only load the songs I have imported by cd, not the purchases from itunes. Can you help me? [more inside]
I bought some bluray+DVD+download discs of some movies for my kids. When we're traveling, it's nice for them to be able to watch on their tablet - a Kindle Fire - but when I try to use the download code that came with the DVDs, it only gives the option to download to iTunes. Is there a way to get these onto a Kindle Fire? [more inside]
Just wondering if I should get a streaming media player, such as Apple TV or Roku? [more inside]
I am running iTunes 10.6.3 on an external HD for my iMac 2.93 Ghx Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB Memory. Movies are mp4. I want to organize in bulk by selecting a bunch of movies and putting them under "Horror", "Action", and "Unwatched", for example. [more inside]
My laptop is being wacky. Without me touching the volume keys when typing, the volume keeps re-adjusting--up, off, down, whatever. Additionally, iTunes is opening up when I have not tried to open it. I can quit, force quit, restart, whatever. It just keeps happening. MacBook Pro mid-2012 running Yosemite 10.10.2. iTunes 22.214.171.124. I could update iTunes, but I am out of the country with limited bandwidth. Any ideas what is going on?
Inspired by a recent FPP, I went to iTunes to buy Charles Mingus' Ah Um. I found the standard 12-track album (9 original, 3 new) for $9.99, a $16.99 50th Anniversary Edition (24 tracks), a $4.99 album (9 original tracks), and also for $4.99, Charles Mingus Complete Recordings: 1957 - 1960, a 9-album, 68-song collection including the 9 original Ah Um tracks. Being
no dummy cheap, I got the latter, and am now wondering if there are any other festivals of musical bargains which may be lurking on the iTunes, and have some other questions about how to tell a good compilation from bad, and the differences in editions and releases of the same albums. [more inside]
I have no idea whether everyone with an ipod has this issue or if it's just me doing something wrong: the track listing on my ipod in iTunes on my computer is way out of sync with the ipod's real contents. [more inside]

I love finding albums that digital music stores fail to price correctly. Some examples: Hildur Gudnadottir's Leyfdu ljosinu, James Blackshaw's Lost Prayers, a concert of In C, and the continuous mixes of Hernan Cattaneo's Balance 26). Do you know any great, bargain-basement priced esoteric albums for sale? Do you have a great system for finding them? Please reveal your secrets!

I'm finally making the switch from PC to Mac, and I have some questions to make sure it all goes smoothly with my peripherals, which are currently synced to my PC. I have an iPhone 6 and an iPad 4th gen updated to the latest iOS. I'm specifically concerned with keeping my text messages and app data. [more inside]
I'm trying to make a (somewhat belated) 2014 "Mixtape" to share with friends. I have a Mac-centric home network, but I'm getting frustrated trying to simply do the following: 1. Create a playlist 2. Order the playlist and change album artist etc so it will show up as a various artists album 3. Export the songs. [more inside]
Can anyone recommend an alernative to Itunes for ripping CDs, organizing music files, creating playlists, and moving them to my Ipod? [more inside]
What's the best way to keep podcast subscriptions and listens on two Macs and an iPhone synced that supports downloading episodes (i.e., not web-only)? If the answer involves iTunes, I might need an explanation of how to fix it since each copy of iTunes seems to be doing its own thing. I'm not looking for live slinging/transfer of audio to another device since the Macs are in completely different locations and the phone isn't always around.
Child Bac appears to have mis-entered her passcode on her 5th-generation iPod touch enough times to cause it to disable itself. It does not appear that the iPod has ever been synced with iTunes or backed up to iCloud. Is there no way to regain access to the device without a full system restore and loss of data? Really? Anybody who can touch a locked iPod for ten seconds can carry out a denial of service attack against it? Surely I'm missing something.
I'm thinking about using iTunes on an old iBook G4 with an Apple TV 2 as a simple media server on a home network. I've been using the Apple TV for years but Home Sharing sometimes drops and I want to try the iBook as a kind of bridge. [more inside]

I subscribe to the KEXP song of the day. It's got great stuff. I used to be able to right click on the podcast and say "Convert to AAC" and then just change the type to music. Now...not so much. What's the trick to turning podcasts into songs these days?
I'd like to use the LAN at work to push music out to remote speakers throughout the building. The speakers would be wired into the LAN, and the music would be streamed from a single PC running iTunes (or something similar -- it doesn't have to be iTunes itself). [more inside]
