I'm thinking of getting an iPod touch and realize I have to buy a router for it to get reliable wi-fi coverage to get email and the web. However, that is where my knowledge ends. Is this "router" thing portable? Can I take it with me and get coverage anywhere, or does it only work at home?

How do I quickly sync all the application data on my iPod touch? Currently, I have to open every single app, wait for it to finish downloading content and then move onto the next app. As I find more and more cool apps, this is taking longer. Is there a way (possibly by hooking it up to my computer) to issue one command and have every application of mine download new data off the web for offline reading? [more inside]

I have a regular ipod, 5th gen. It used to work just fine with my xp pc. A while back, my pc completely stopped recognizing the ipod. it does not show up in the device manager. it is a usb connection, that has always worked before and works fine for other devices, ie. thumbnail drives, etc.
the ipod *charges* fine from my computer, plays fine, but I can no longer sync or anything else through itunes or whatever.
i went to the ipod site and did everything they recommended = the five "r"s to no avail. any ideas?

Someone with an iPhone or an ipod touch, please answer a stupid easy question for me. When you open an app, what is the first thing the app shows you - is it: A. a full screen that says NAME OF APPLICATION and then you tap to see your first options, or B. those options are presented on the very first screen that you see? Which one is the most common?

Last night, for reasons unclear to me, my iPod decided it needed to re-synch everything. When it was finished, it indicated that I had just as much space taken by "other" as I did by music and that my iPod is nearly full. How can I remove this "other" stuff? I really don't want to restore; is there any other way to fix this? I am running Windows on a PC

I have a 4th Gen click wheel iPod. It still plays and charges. Today, I got the "restore" error message when hooking it up to my iMac/iTunes. I tried restoring it but it then gave me the msg "The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1433)" and directed me to here. I tried the usual stuff recommended including: unplugging and replugging; trying new cord; holding menu and center button down for reboot; trying on other macs -- and still get the same msg. Although the technology is old, the iPod itself has hardly been used. Any suggestions? (Besides buying a new one.)
Thanks for your input.

Can someone please tell me how to find the size of my iPhoto and iTunes files? I go into Library, find iPhoto and iTunes and then find bunch of subfiles, divided by date; but they don't seem to include all the pictures and songs. It doesn't make sense and Apple documentation doesn't clarify the matter.

I'd like to put a system in our master bedroom (<400 sqf) and I'm overwelmed. Receiver/amp, speakers, and my ipod is all I need. I'd like the speakers to be small and wall mounted. I have a recommendation for Paradigm Reference Mini Monitors. Any comparables? Is that a good direction to go in, or should I go the "ceiling can" route?
How'bout the receiver?
Any and all recommendations are welcome.
