My G4 iPod has crapped out. It's a few years old and was working with no problems for some time. But recently it corrupted a bunch of my songs. I tried reloading and it now crashes my Mac running 10.4 because the move hangs halfway and nothing can be done.
Is there anything I can do with this thing? [more inside]

Is my iPod hosed? After restoring it to factory defaults, it freezes whenever I upload significant amounts of mp3s (crashes after a few gigs at a different place each time)

The click wheel on my ipod is broken. The buttons have slipped off their positions so I have to click on the plastic outside of the wheel VERY hard to get it to function. Not only do I have to guess where the button has drifted, it has gotten much worse over time and I can no longer press the menu button. [more inside]

iPod help: My 5-Gig, Touchwheel iPod is hung and displays the following message: "No battery power remains. Please connect iPod to power." However, the iPod had 2/3s of a charge before it hung and does not accept a charge when I plug it in. I am unable to reset the iPod and it refuses all keyboard input. It has displayed this message for almost two days now. The iPod also does not register in the Finder of either of my computers. Should I buy a new battery or is the iPod dead?
