I'm looking to replace the back glass panel of my iPhone 4. The options seem to be
cheap ($2-$10) options from Amazon, or
$80 from iFixIt. I'm mostly interested in the quality of the glass covering the lens. Mine is tremendously scratched, rendering my camera useless. I'd prefer to not pay $80, but I also don't trust the $2 knock-offs from Amazon. I've heard that the cheap ones have very crappy lens coverings - essentially just plastic wrap, not clear glass at all. Any advice on getting a quality rear backing at a decent price?

I've got an iPhone 4s for Verizon and I love it. Last month it started making a vibration or rattle in the receiver earpiece. It is noticed when on a phone call and the other person is speaking. It's a pretty annoying vibration.

I'm searching for a lowkey unobtrusive but interesting ringtone that won't draw looks of ire from those around me. I know this has been
covered on ask.mefi before (in 2006), and, indeed, I ended up with one of those ringtones on a long ago now dead phone. But six years later, most of those links are dead, and we've moved from RAZRs to iPhones and Androids.

Ack! I just realized my iPhone is syncing my personal G-Calendar to my Outlook work calendar, meaning my coworkers now know when I have doctor appointments, book club meetings, etc.! How do I set up a one-way sync solution so that I can see my work calendar on my iPhone, but my coworkers can't see my personal calendar?

In short: how do I sync all my contacts between Mac OS X Address Book, iOS, iCloud.com, and Gmail.com? Not as short: In olden days, I used the Address Book app on my Mac to store all my contacts. Everything in there would sync to MobileMe (and by extension, iPhone, iPad and me.com) and Google (for Gmail). After iCloud was released in October, turning on contact syncing between Address Book and iCloud resulted in a message that said if iCloud contact syncing is turned on Google syncing must be turned off. Googling tells me that lots of people are having this problem, but I'm not finding a solution within all the noise. What am I missing? Any settings to change? Any software? Thanks in advance.

Frequently I notice that iPhone/iPad apps initially go on sale initially at a reduced price. Moog's Animoog app, for example, debuted for a limited time at $0.99 and now costs $30. Obviously this is a strategy to get buzz and positive reviews. However, I'm bummed for missing this deal. Are there any websites that give the reader a heads up on killer apps that have just come out and which are being offered for practically nothing?

Since enabling iTunes in the Cloud, my music is sorted/grouped incorrectly on my iPhone. Albums starting with "S" will appear under "T", for instance. See

I would like to be able to access files on my mapped network drive remotely on my ipad. In particular, I would like to access entire folders of files that change somewhat on a weekly basis in places where I may not be able to get internet access or do not want to wait for a download. I'll be traveling in Scotland and England for a couple of weeks in February, mostly by bus. I'm an inveterate iPhone user, always tweeting, checking-in, posting photos and so on ... but I know that route will lead to financial madness. So what's best to do? I know I can jailbreak, unlock my iPhone, perhaps use another SIM card while traveling, but is the effort worth doing? Is it better to leave the iPhone at home in the US and grab a pay-go smartphone upon arrival in Edinburgh (and if so, how best)? Or do I bring the iPhone and use it via wifi only, hoping I don't slip and fall into a welcoming bit of 3G along the way?

I just had my Verizon iPhone 4s unlocked for international use and confirmed working with two different foreign SIM cards. Three questions:
- Is this permanent? Can it ever be re-locked via software or some other method?
- Can this be used with US SIM cards, or are there restrictions?
- Is this phone now identical to an unlocked iPhone, or is it somehow different?

I'd like to purchase an aftermarket radio for my Ford Freestyle. I purchased an eclipse radio 4 years ago but it has turned into an epic POS. I'd like the following features:
-Bluetooth
-ability to plug in my iPhone to play podcasts and Pandora etc
-gps navigation
-xm would be nice, but the other features are more important
I researched my last radio and got the worst POS imaginable. So your suggestions are welcome. I'd be ecstatic if I could find something that functioned at this point.
